Mix a Muzuki Yuzuki, Lazy Sumac, Punchy McPunchface and Twisted Pornstar cocktail in #ABiteToEat with BATCH in Peckham Rye, London.

How did you get started?

We actually started as a one month Christmas pop up in 2017. It was so successful and we loved the space, area, and community so much we decided to just keep on going. We’re still set up as a pop up but we’re just about to start work on turning it into a permanent bar. Exciting stuff!

Where are you located?

We’re nestled in a little cluster of restaurants and bars on Peckham Rye, sandwiched between the brilliant Pedler and Old Spike Coffee. We love the area and the people along this stretch. We all help each other out and work together.

What are your specialities?

Cocktails, cocktails, and more cocktails! We’ll make any cocktail you ask for and our menu has a mix of original and classic cocktails. Mizuki Yuzuki and My Smokey Clementine are probably our biggest selling and most original recipes on our current menu. We also have an amazing back bar with an ever-changing selection of hard to find whisky, gins, and rums. We often host tastings and masterclasses with experts in the industry and our own staff.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

I like the smokey clementine. Its like an old fashioned, served straight up like a sazarc and smoked under a cloche. The drink cools the smoke down and sits in the glass until finally lifted to the moth. My beard smells like cherry wood for the rest of the evening!

What's on the stereo?

Typically we play a lot of 80’s, new wave but I’ll slap on some soul and funk when every I get a chance. Occasionally, we’ll put on a radio show or live recording to celebrate special occasions and anniversaries. The team love their music and will often try to out do each other building a playlist.
We often let the guests choose or use our player as a juke box and we’re launching acoustic nights soon as well as holding DJ nights every couple of months or so.

Where else should we visit in your area?

The best pattern in our little nook of Peckham is to pop in to us for an aperitif before heading to a local restaurant. Pedler, Banh Banh, Mr. Bao and Miss Tapas are all great places. Then head back to ours for digestive and to while the night away with cocktails and tunes.

Do you host any special events?

We constantly have special events going on. As well as tastings from brand ambassadors and spirit experts we hold brand-sponsored poker nights and industry poker games, Fruit Factory is one of our regular DJ nights among others. We’ll bring in caterers for holidays like St. Patricks Day and Valentines day. Tim and I are avid rugby fans so we’ll show the international tournaments on our 3 m screen and host movie nights every now and then too.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We are a great venue for a party and we work as a BYOF - Bring your own food destination.
