The natural light from the sliding glass door, which leads out to a patio and the back yard. I enjoy the changing seasons while I'm outside on the patio or inside my studio.

Tell us about your space

My studio is 12' x 20'. When we bought this house, my studio was used as a family room, but I knew instantly, it would be my studio. There is an office area on one end with built-in cabinets. The rest of the room has cabinets, a table and eight chairs. There is a bathroom and laundry room next to my studio. Most of the time my studio is used as a studio, There are a few times, I have hosted baby and bridal showers, as well as Easter and Christmas dinners in my studio. The majority of the time my studio is used for designing and preparing projects for the Stampin' Up! papercrafting classes I teach. I also paint furniture and do some sewing projects in my studio.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

The carpeting and wall colors are neutral colors. The wood doors and wood trim in the room is cherry. Storage cabinets are white. The color scheme for decor is black, white and red. There is a gas fireplace in the corner, which is cozy in the fall and winter. I usually have soft background music playing.

How do you keep organized?

It took me a long time to realize that if all my crafting supplies are next to me, I am overwhelmed, distracted and can't create anything. Now, the majority of my supplies are stored inside cabinets, which are filled with clear, labeled shoe boxes.

When I'm creating, I pull out the shoe boxes of supplies and put them on my table. The entire table is quickly full of supplies. When I am done, I put everything away. The shoe boxes make clean up easy and I my studio is ready for my next inspiration.

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

I keep similar things in the same place and label as much as I can.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

My mom's typewriter and her printer's box of rubber stamps from the 1920's. Other favorites are artwork from our grandgirls, family scrapbooks,. vintage items and antiques. I do have some of my creations on display.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

I have about four clear shoe boxes of sample greeting card ideas.

Where do you look for inspiration?

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

1) I wish it was larger, so I could have more people attend classes at one time.
2) I wish it was handicap accessible.
3) I wish it would clean itself.
