Learn how-to make a Beaded Bracelet, Mala Necklace and DIY Tassel in #Shop Showcase with Shakti in Winnipeg.

How did you get started?

Family has always been the life-blood pumping through the heart of Shakti, from it’s origins to now. The idea of Shakti was born on Rebecca’s travels earlier in life with her four small children at her side. They embarked on many wild adventures through India, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Guatemala and Mexico, drinking up culture along the way. During those years a love for global community and a thirst for ancient knowledge grew within each one of them. Thus, Rebecca began building up her dreams of making ancient healing medicines, tools, rituals, and practices more readily available for those seeking a little “something more” in their life. Her dream soon became a reality, and in 2010 Shakti was brought into being. Adorned in crystals, beads, meditation tools, jewellery, tapestries, ancient artifacts and inspiration, she is truly a thing of beauty.

Where are you located?

Shakti is a small, unique, family run store in the epicentre of Osborne Village in Winnipeg, MB. Canada.

Which products do you specialise in?

Shakti specializes in crystals and crystal beads, jewelry making tools and supplies. Herbs, incense and all things meditation, included tibetan singing bowls and essential oils. We also have a wide range of ethically traded clothing, bags and furniture.

Do you have a particular favorite product that you sell?

This is hard to narrow down, but the crystals are definitely one of the most exciting parts of Shakti. The display is wall to wall and all the crystals just seem to be bursting with energy. Its a sight to behold for sure.

What's on the stereo?

We like to listen to local musicians!

Where else should we visit in your area?

There are quite a few great little stores in our area. If you are coming to Osborne, we recommend walking the length of it and checking out any that call your name. We really are a unique community.

Do you host any workshops, classes or special events?

We do offer classes on jewelry making techniques, from basic stretchy bracelets to advanced wire wrapping classes. They can be scheduled one on one or you can bring a friend or 3! All the information about these is on our website, including some examples photos.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We are truly a family as well as a team, and each person is essential. Every one of us specializes in a different area of the store and its many extended projects. We cooperate as a team and as individuals to create the wonderful, homey, and mystifying feeling that is Shakti. When you reach out to us, you will be speaking directly to one of us. Please always feel free to reach out to us, as a whole or as individuals, and we will do our absolute best to get you the assistance you need.
