It's a really lovely big room. It's quiet and I have a lovely garden outside. I have lots of artworks around and plants, so it's very peaceful.

Tell us about your space

I share my space with my Cocker Spaniel, Winnie and my cat Fernando. This is also my lounge. But living and working just seem to stream into each other. Mostly I knit and crochet here, or do anything that I've been commissioned to design here.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I have put in lots of plants, some lovely pieces of art. Some have been given to me by my daughter who is an illustrator, some pictures are of Brighton, which is near where I live and where I love. There are two very cosy sofas with silk velvet cushions and also I have a lot of sheepskins. It's really cosy.

How do you keep organized?

I have an old Indian wooden cupboard which is full of boxes of wool. And a hand-painted dresser which is full of my books and the cupboards tightly crammed with bits of fabric, braiding, cotton and all sorts of useful things.

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

Keep them in clear plastic boxes, then you can see what's inside them. I label mine so I don't have to do too much rummaging.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

Crochet blankets. Mostly the dog sleeps on them, but I also use them to keep me warm, obviously - and I take one to yoga to cover me up when I'm meditating.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

On the computer. I also scribble a lot on bits of paper. I have a notepad in front of me all of the time.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Difficult to say. But probably from my surroundings. I live quite near Brighton and love to walk on the beach. I'm also deep in the countryside and have some beautiful walks. But I also love London, where I'm from and do get lots of inspiration from just walking around the streets and hanging out in cafes or cocktail bars, when I get the chance.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?
