Cook a Maui Wowie Poke and a Soft Shell Crab Appetizer in #ABiteToEat with Norigami.

How did you get started?

We've been working in the restaurant industry for most of our adult lives. One day, we decided to take the plunge by quitting our jobs and started selling street food at festivals and events. This was our way of being in charge of our creative process and sharing our passion with the masses!

Where are you located?

As of now, we are a pop-up shop in Los Angeles and Orange County. We do events everywhere from Pasadena down to Dana Point.

What are your specialities?

Our feature item is our sushi noritaco. It's basically sushi in a crsipy seaweed shell! The crispy seaweed adds texture and also a bit of umami taste, which makes our sushi noritacos so addicting! We stuff these shells with sushi rice and fillings such as homemade spicy tuna, Hawaiian-style ahi poke, and crispy soft shell crab. We also make all of our sauces in-house.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

One shop favorite is the Maui Wowie, our sushi noritaco with ahi tuna poke marinated in soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. It's topped with green onion and our homemade creamy wasabi mayo, which adds a little kick! The crowd favorite is definitely Mr. Krabs, our sushi noritaco with crispy soft shell crab, spicy sriracha mayo, and citrus ponzu sauce. So much texture and flavor in every bite!

What's on the stereo?

The team gets to pick. Nearly everyone is in their 20's working their way through college, so the top EDM hits are usually on blast. The Chainsmokers are our favorite! 90% of the playlist is by them.

Where else should we visit in your area?

There's so many great places to visit in LA and OC that it's hard to narrow it down to a few! We'll give a shoutout to our festival fam and recommend Hotville Chicken in DTLA (Nashville-style hot chicken), Harmony Tea Bar in Mission Viejo (amazing quality boba), and Seoul Street Co (Korean fusion).

Do you host any special events?

We want to encourage everyone to come and check out the events we participate in. OC Night Market and 626 Night Market are crazy food festivals where we got our start. We have cohosted Secret Walls, an amazing freestyle art mural battle at START LA. Further along in the future, we want to get really involved and host more fun events with other entrepreneurs in the community.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We are saving up to open our own brick and mortar restaurant by summer 2017! Currently, we're searching in the Downtown LA and Orange County area. We would greatly appreciate any donations through our GoFundMe account!
