For one weekend in August, the streets of Glasgow had been turned into a race track as Ignition Festival came to town bringing fast cars, racing stars and everything a car fanatic could want.

Held at the SECC next to the Clyde, the venue had been transformed into a MotorShow Hall, Live Action Zone and Classic Car Hall with a track surrounding the whole arena.

The Car Halls gave visitors the chance to get up close to the cars, chat to the experts and buy souvenirs.

There was also a bar on a Live Action Zone where you could watch drivers performing stunts, a test drive car park and vintage bus bar where non-drivers could grab a drink.

Back on the track, The Stig from Top Gear was kicking up dirt as he performed donuts around the road.

There were processions of vintage and classic cars, and fans of drifting were in for a treat when Shane Lynch and Team Japspeed hit the track.

The star of the show on Friday was former F1 racer and nine time Grand Prix winner Mark Webber, impressing the crowds as he sped around the track in a Porsche.

It was the Red Bull Racing team who drew the biggest crowds as they fired up their noisy and iconic Formula One cars.

For those attending on Saturday and Sunday, former F1 Champion David Coulthard was showing off his skills for Red Bull.

It was fantastic seeing real Formula One cars take on the Glasgow streets and the crowd were even more delighted when David Coulthard stopped to sign autographs as the end of the day.
