I was in my early twenties when Harry Potter hit, and it changed my life. Not only were they great stories (I was a librarian, so they changed my job too) but Hermione was a real, down to earth, clever young women who proved that your smarts could get you anywhere and usually save the guys along the way! In my head she was not big on super style (who could be with that hair!), but she'd want to be warm, considered and maybe a little quirky. She'd also not want to get in trouble with Prof. McGonnogall!

I’m a knitter obsessed with making a world of cute and slightly weird characters, called Mochimochi Land. It’s become an all-encompassing project for me for the past eight years or so; it started with making patterns, then expanded to soft sculptures and installations, and now animations and books. A big part of the fun is seeing what other knitters do with my patterns—I get so much inspiration from the creative modifications they do and the stories that they tell.
