Noah is a freelance illustrator living in Portland OR. In addition to contributing to numerous publications all over the country, he is currently storyboarding for an upcoming cartoon show being produced for Comedy Central.

Have you always been creative and artistic?

For as long as I can remember.

How would you describe the style of your work?

Being mostly line work based, my style is in the vein of comic book art, but I rarely work in that industry. Figurative and Narrative, and hopefully entertaining. I prefer bold and saturated colors. Although primarily digital, I like to add a bit of painterly flair to my color treatment.

What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?

These days my pencil case is all digital. But I can say that the best (and my favorite tools for Phototshop) are Kyle Webster's real media brushes.

Who is your favorite superhero?

That's a tough one. I've always been partial to the X-Men since I grew up reading the 90's Jim Lee books. But having to choose just one is just too difficult to do.

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Flying. Hands down.

Where do you look for inspiration?

I am inspired by other illustrators whom I follow daily. My Illo Confidential comrades, as well as a slew of working pros I admire and follow on social media. Beyond that, I try to be inspired by everything I encounter. Movies, television, design, nature. Anything can be inspiration if you look hard enough.

Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?

Nathan Fox and both Tomer and Asaf Hanuka are some of my biggest favorites. I also love the work of the european comic book artists of the 'Heavy Metal' era like Moebius and Enki Bilal. I have to say, Enki Bilal is probably my all time favorite.
