How would you describe your style?

I always say it's somewhere between prep and grunge. I love big chunky knits and tweed and tartan, but I also will never turn down a black on black on black ensemble. It varies day to day.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

As much as I love elaborate pieces, my favorite item has to be this simple tee shirt I got on a really amazing trip to Milwaukee. We stopped in this coffee shop, Colectivo, on our first night there, and I fell in love with this amazingly soft shirt that had a bull on the front with the word "COFFEE" in all caps - it doesn't sound like much describing it like this, but I completely adore it.

Who are your style icons?

There's the ever timeless Audrey Hepburn. More recently, I adore pretty much everything Taylor Swift puts on. I also have a massive style crush on Liz Morrow, the blogger behind Delightfully Tacky.

Do you have any favourite designers?

I love Alice + Olivia's collections. Also, I lust over everything Kate Spade produces, honestly.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

I love Free People, and H&M. For more everyday stuff, I love the availability of Forever 21, you can find just about everything if you look hard enough.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I don't usually make too many things from scratch, but I do customize or alter a lot of things that I get at thrift shops or vintage stores.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

My main tip is to have fun with it! Life's too short to be constantly worrying what other people think. Beyond that, I'd say that you can really do a lot with accessories. Fun bags, statement necklaces, the options are limitless.

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

I love A Beautiful Mess, Oak and Oats (www.oakandoats.com), A Cup of Jo (www.cupofjo.com), and Gentri Lee (www.gentrileeblog.com).
