How would you describe your style?

My style is cotton candy old school glam. I love any and all shades of pink (clearly) and I always aim for flattering vintage silhouettes and fun patterns.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

It's a tie up between this AMAZING donut dress, a bedazzled vintage pink top with thousands of beads I scored for an incredibly thrifty price, or my giant tulle skirt I love to rock whenever I get the opportunity (which could easily just be a fancy trip to the grocery store if I feel like it).

Who are your style icons?

My style icons are:
Brigitte Bardot for her sexy smoky eye looks and constantly perfect bouffants...
Betty Draper for her never failing, feminine freshness...
and Iris Apfel for her awe inspiring style that has remained uniquely bold at every age.

Do you have any favourite designers?

My favorite designers are Kate Spade and Betsy Johnson for their whimsical touch and ability to make beautiful, sometimes silly patterns seriously covetable by women of all ages. And for bringing more color into this world.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

I honestly spend the majority of my money at Buffalo Exchange. I live in an area of very generous thrifters that give away brands and vintage that blow my mind. I also love the idea of constantly evolving my wardrobe, so I frequently trade in my old items to try as many different brands as I can.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

Without fail, I always have some sort of hair accessory. Since high school, I've been rocking headscarves. I used to find them at vintage shops and tie them in giant bows on top of my head. I must have around thirty at this point. I also love to collect new and vintage buttons and usually have an assortment of random flair on my top.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

I think a great way to mix up and personalize an outfit is to always make sure that you're never wearing exclusively one brand. You can so easily tell when people look like walking advertisements, and it makes me disinterested in their style. Even if someone puts an entire JCREW outfit together perfectly, it still feels like someone else ultimately put their look together for them. Mix it up! One thing from a major retailer, one from a flea market, and something from your mom's old closet. Inspire others to discover things they already own, just didn't think to pair together!

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

I love Rebecca's blog The Clothes Horse. I'm so impressed by the quality of her outfits and the photos themselves. Same goes for The Cherry Blossom Blog and Jo from Lost in the Haze!
