Mix an Old Fashioned, French Martini and The Milligan shot with Sofi's Bar in Edinburgh, Scotland.

How did you get started?

Opened since 2005, Sofi's is the second of five bars opened by a Swedish couple. Originally recognised as a regulars bar for the Henderson Street Locals, Sofi's has now built itself a great reputation for being a squeeze and a hug in the middle of Leith, attracting people from all over the city.

Where are you located?

Sofi's is situated on Henderson Street, just up from the shore.

What are your specialities?

Sofi's prides its self on serving what the customers want. Our specialties would probably be our amazingly tasty and affordable cocktails. We have a great list of cocktails, and if its not on the list, our staff can be sweet talked into making anyone's favourite cocktail.
We also house IDUNS fruit ciders, The Elderflower in particular is very popular.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

My personal favourite would have to be our French Martini.
It is a hard choice, but the way we shake up this classic recipe of Chambord, Vanilla Absolut and Pineapple Juice, and add in whole Raspberries, really makes this cocktail frothy, fruity and delicious.

What's on the stereo?

The Sofi's stereo is an eclectic mix, which changes depending on the mood and what the customers would like to hear. We regularly have live music in the bar, so our stereo gets a well deserved rest.

Where else should we visit in your area?

The Shore is full of brilliant bars to eat and drink, we couldn't possibly just mention the one, we suggest you try them all!

Do you host any special events?

Sofi's has lots of events going on:

Weekly - £5 Cocktail Sundays All Day; Open Mic on a Sunday form 8pm; Movie Mondays from 8pm and a writers club on Tuesdays from 7.30pm

Monthly - Dugs n Pubs the first Saturday of the Month from 12pm (OUR FAVOURITE EVENT!); Art Exhibition Launches the first Friday of the Month from 7.30pm and Talking Heids Poetry Nights The last Tuesday of the Month.

Occasionally - Clothes Swaps, Lounge Acts, Comedy Nights, Saturday Sessions, Themed Parties and many many more!

Keep an eye on our Facebook for regular updates!

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

We have a lovely little backroom which is available to book, for free, and is a great spot for Birthday Parties, Hen Parties, Meetings or hobby groups!

Do you have a favorite cafe, restaurant or bar in your town that we should feature? Send us a message!
