Come behind the scenes at Modish and Main and tour Kristin's gorgeous home office in Oxnard, California.

In my home office, I love the blend of clean, white lines mixed with pops of bold color. There is a wall in my office painted bright coral!

Tell us about your space

I work from home so my office space has to function for my not only full-time job, but also for my blog. I use the space to stay extremely organized, but also as a place of inspiration and creation. I also have an abundance of accessories, mainly jewelry. Having an entire room, plus a closet made for a perfect space to not only work in but also play dress up in!

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

Painting a wall bright coral was definitely a way to bring some character into the space! It's the first thing you see when you walk into the room, so I made all the furniture in the room white. Once I did that, I realized it was a clean slate it terms of how else I wanted to decorate. I love incorporating everyday items such as a favorite pair of heels or a statement bracelet. I also made my own magnetic bulletin board with a metallic gold moroccan stencil to contrast the mix of coral, white and gold. It's definitely a room that makes you instantly feel like you're in a better mood!

How do you keep organized?

I dislike clutter and messes. I pride myself on staying very organized and I do that by making sure I don't keep anything that's not needed and then store everything else in decorative storage boxes, magazine files, trays, etc. My theory is, if it doesn't have a "home," it'll quickly become a nuisance. At the end of each work day, I take a few minutes to file any paperwork and straighten up my desk and workspace. Those few minutes make a big difference!

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

Store likeminded items together in a box and label it. With that being said, don't let the inside of the box turn into a dump zone either. Put smaller boxes inside of big boxes if you need to. Repurpose items for your organizational needs. I used a kitchen utensil turntable holder for my vast array of sharpie markers! Get creative with your organizing ideas and you'll be much happier that you did.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

I'm really proud of my Magnetic Bulletin Board that is in my home office. I wasn't happy with anything I found on the market in terms of color, size, functionality, etc. A simple DIY project turned into a key functioning piece for my everyday office needs.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

We all love Pinterest, but nothing beats flipping through an actual magazine. The problem is, once you've torn out page after page, what do you do with them then? I used presentation folders that you can find at your local office superstore and have labeled them for different spaces or inspirational ideas (ex. Style, Home Decor, Organizing, etc). Anytime I'm looking for fresh ideas, I turn to these more than Pinterest.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Magazines, Pinterest and blogs. In this age where everything is being documented and photographed, there is access to so much an amazing stuff. Before I make any big purchasing decision, whether it be for my home or my closet, I round up all the things I'm loving right now and ensure that's what I really want!

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

Wish 1 — artwork on the walls
Wish 2 — Additional seating for guests
Wish 3 — a great area rug
