Mix up The LoMo and Rosy Cheeks cocktails with Dig A Pony in Portland, Oregon.

How did you get started?

The partners of Dig have been long-time friends connected through Portland's thriving bar scene. We had the idea and drive to create something of our own and knew with our strengths combined we could achieve it! It was a long time in the making but our love of music, design, food, beverage, and hospitality came together quite nicely in our classically designed space.

Where are you located?

We are just bordering the industrial area of inner Southeast Portland. Our neighborhood is up-and-coming with many new bars and restaurants opening as well as new housing opportunities to compliment the neighborhoods trendy scene.

What are your specialities?

We We are very proud of our house cocktails. We offer a balance of classic cocktails and mixed drinks created by our bar manager. We also offer a very strong spirits list and have many beer options both on our rotating tap list and in bottles.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

I'm mostly a wine drinker (I buy the wine for the bar as well) so you'll typically see me sipping some Vinho Verde. Later in the evening though, after a meal, I go to one of my favorite spirits: Fernet Branca, Green Chartreuse, or a single malt scotch with water!

What's on the stereo?

Boogie, soul, funk, classic country, honkey tonk, garage rock, and so much more. We have DJs playing vinyl 7 nights a week and they typically keep the selections pre '90s. Great for dancing! Oh, and occasionally a Beatles song makes its way in the mix.

Where else should we visit in your area?

So many amazing restaurants so close to us! Oso (wine bar with specialty beer) and Katcha (Russian fare) are our immediate neighbors and they are both so amazing and delicious, great people. We are lucky to be blocks away from Olympic Provisions, they are not to miss! For a classic and unique-for-our-time bookstore (no iPhones allowed) you must visit Mother Foucault's (also our immediate neighbor). The owner Craig will know what you should read before you do. Trust him.

Do you host any special events?

We have live bands on occasion for special days like our Anniversary, 4th of July, and New Years Eve celebrations. We get great line ups of local bands for each of these special nights. All are open to the public and free of charge!

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

Thank you so much for including us! We are also active on Instagram @digaponypdx . My personal IG is @scotchwhisky . Dig a Pony is open 7 days a week from 4pm-2am. Thank you so much again!
