I am Susana Tavares mixed media artist and I love to paint dolls. I live in Lisbon / Portugal with my family. Mother of 3 children and a labrador.

Have you always been creative and artistic?

Yes I always have been creative, I loved to draw when I was a child and spend time making creative things.

How would you describe the style of your work?

If I picked 3 words to describe my art would be feminine, spiritual and whimsical, with a bit of magic dust.

What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?

I love watercolors, acrylic paints, watercolor crayons and oil pastels, usually I use them in everything I do, so they are all faves :)

Who is your favorite superhero?

My favorite now is Crafeterela, she wears kitty hears, she is creative, crafty and sexy.... She is perfect!!!!!

If you could have one super power what would it be?

To fly!!!!!!

Where do you look for inspiration?

I am very inspired by nature and animals and sweet faces. Since I am an intuitive painter, my inspirations usually came from within. I love to pull my characters and elements from my mixed media backgrounds and not having any plan for my painting is my favorite way of creating.

Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?

My favorite artists are Mindy lacefield, Flora Bowley, Sarah Kiser, Maria Pace Winters, Miki wild just to name a phew.
