Aimee Ray has a head full of ideas and is always working on several creative projects at once. She loves drawing, painting and all kinds of crafts, and has written 4 books on hand embroidery (the Doodle Stitching series) the 4th of which comes out in September 2014. Have you always been creative and artistic?

Yes, I've been an artist for as long as I can remember.

How would you describe the style of your work?

Whimsical, eclectic, a little weird, just me.

What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?

My favorite tools are watercolors and a needle and embroidery floss.

Who is your favorite superhero?

Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld

If you could have one super power what would it be?

I've always wanted to fly.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Everywhere! Nature, dreams, Pinterest, flickr, toys, other artists...

Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?

I have so many!! Right now I'm loving Emily Martin and have collected some of her prints for my walls. My favorite comic artist has always been Charles Vess.
