We go behind the scenes at One O to tour Chiara & Irene's shared craft corner in Turin, Italy:

I love the nude texture of wood, so I try to keep it tidy and let the natural look come out.

Tell us about your space

Even though One O is made of two, Chiara and I (Irene) actually live in 2 different homes so the photos you're seeing here are my teeny-tiny craft corner. We often meet here to craft some DIYs for the blog or sew our textiles for the Etsy shop. It's a space in evolution, a simple desk for all styles that has grown and changed with me. I used to fill it with children games, now I fill it with washi tapes and a personal computer. It's just a nook actually, but it's comfy and has all I need.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I love the nude texture of wood, so I try to keep it tidy and let the natural look come out. I've added just some cans and storage boxes to keep markers and all sorts of stuff handy, I always keep some books and style them with a vintage polaroid camera. A nice magnetic board keeps memories tidy, a giant ceramic amperstand gives it a nordic look and a moodboard wall is just a must for a creative space.

How do you keep organized?

Boxes, cans, jars.. anyhing that has patterns and colours on the outside and contains lots of stuff! For example, this period I am using Ikea tins that keep it all in place with style. I like to change the boxes and tins for a super fast makeover, and no, I don't trash the old ones! We either hack them via some DIY projects or use them inside drawers and in wardrobes. Easy as pie and fun!

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

Yes for instance, using diving systems inside your drawers helps you keep order between different categories of things. So when you create, knowing all the possibilities and knowing where to find them makes your workflow easier and faster.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

I love the giant ceramic amperstand I used for a photography session and just couldn't substitute it with anything else. DIY projects? A handful actually! We made the little polaroid magnets you see on the board, made the washi wall art and also the little tea light candles in the sewing machine corner.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

Because we share inspiration and ideas with one another, we usually make a photo of wathever it is that is inspiring us and sent it to one another for approval or advice. It happens we find nice postcards, leaflets, business cards or just pictures from magazines that hit us particularly: that's what the moodboard is for. It is constantly evolving and changing. In the end, I always have my agenda handy, to write down ideas before they vanish from my airy head :P.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Look for? Inspiration is something that hits you when you're actually not even looking! That's why caputuring the instance is essential. Anyway, everything in life is inspirational; looking around you, changing places, changing habits, talking to people, going to events and exhibitions. If all of this is too demanding, well' there's always great old Pinterest.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

Gosh, three is pretty narrow! Jokes a part, I think I would have a more nordic styled craft room. This would mean: wood floring, more shelving systems and a cat. Not really craft related, but it's a wish for my home. Thus, my craft room.
