I don't remember where I found the pattern, I don't make baby ones often. But I do remember that it was a hdc pattern, I think those make the best hats.
This turned out quite small, even for a 5 year old. It should work fine if you just increase the pattern by 50% when printing
I made the bats using shrink paper, then I glued links on the back so I could attach them to the chain :)
haha :D Thanks Krista! I love CO+K and I'm glad I can help make it awesome for others too.
That is way cute :) you did an awesome job on the paw prints <3
I found them at a local craft store but they are called just Resin Flower Cabochon, and they are easy to find and buy on ebay, etsy and other online shops.
Jolanda! I'd love to :) I haven been doing as many swaps as I've wanted be aide I've been working so much, but I could use a good swap this summer. We'll have to get something together for sure.
There isn't a pattern, I just made it up. This isn't a tutorial just a regular project.
just regular cardstock printer sized paper..
Thanks for all the Favs <3
Wow! You've been busy. Thanks for all the favorites :D
Thanks Lisa! I did make the tag also, it's just a scrap of pretty paper I punched holes is and topped of with some ribbon. :)
Thanks for all the Favorites! <3
I can't believe I forgot to say that!
YOU NEED TO LET THEM SIT OVERNIGHT IN THE FRIDGE :)
Thanks for reminding me Meagan, lol.
also WATER FROM YOUR FAUCET IS FINE TOO, if you usually drink your tap water, then just use that instead of purified or distilled water.
Cat Eye Glasses! My mom has a pair my grandma wore and the are so awesome looking. They're black with a curly ivy design carved onto them. I always want to dress up in them when I was younger and even tried to wear them to school a few times. It didn't work out well because I don't need glasses and the prescription on them was quite thick lol.
Ou could always use some pretty scrap booking paper or a brown paper bag as the front cover, that way you could make your own design (or the recover could doodle on the from)
These would be so great for teachers as gifts <3
Thanks for all the favorites!
Thanks for all the Favorites <3
heehee ^_^ Thanks Danielle!
Thanks Hannah :)The knapsack is only about 3 inches tall!
I love this geeky bracelet <3
Yeah :) I have way more to post I just haven't had time to post anymore lol.
Oh I love those colors :) and the sunflower is a really cute button.
Love the big button earrings :) I have a bunch just like those with matching necklaces!
I just used a bit of glue in the knot and also used "fray check" on the ends, but if the ribbon is plastic you could just burn the ends a bit to keep it from fraying.
Thanks for all the favorites :) I love your Jake & MeMow Stocking!
I love MissCake and all the wonderful designs there! I recently went to Nevada, and had fun gambling a bit while visiting my sister. Lady Luck didn't visit me much so I bought a little "Lucky Charm" to help improve my odds, it didn't work, lol. But I really loved all the little "lucky" bits for sale. So I sketched one up in the style of MissCake! It has the word "Lucky" in a cute font, but the "U" is a horseshoe, then attached at the end is a large Four Leafed Clover, for extra luck. The lettering is in a metallic gold, on a matte white back ground, the clover is an emerald green of course, all on a gold plated chain. Here is my rough draft and final idea :)
My new year's resolution is...
To Be More Generous With My Time, Skills, & Money!
Give to those who need it, when ever possible. I think last year I did pretty well with my skills and donations, but I feel I could volunteer more of my time.
These are really cute! And look great for little kids :)
WOW! Thanks for all the favorites <3
follow this link and create an account or sign in to view the pattern
Something went wrong when they changed the site, it used to be there, lol. Anyway it is at this link, on Bernat.com. You need to create an account to see it, but it is fast and free. Here is the direct link http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=6493 You wont be able to see the pattern until you are signed in though.
Thanks! I like that it adds a cute detail to the band, but also hides those ugly seams :) Bonus! lol
We had most seasons, but have lent them out and lost them, same with ghost hunters. And yes, Josh is so cute! LOL
Check out the pic of my autographed book :) And be jealous.
OMG :) You love Destination Truth too!!!!!! I <3 Josh Gates! I bought his book and paid a little extra to get it signed by him, swoon!
Aww he is so cute! I think he is much nicer than the one in the store because he is hand made :)
These are really cute, and a great way to recycle!
Yeah I know what you mean! I had I think forever before I came up with this awesome ideas :) plus it's extra awesome because you don't really need to know how to wire wrap since you just loop the wire around and around the key until it is all wrapped.
Glad you love it!
Aww :) How nice of them all to shave their heads!
I love this, I have no idea why. I don't ever wear hats but I just love this, lol. Maybe because I love Thor also. Anyway it looks great!
Yey! This is perfect for you then! I love that I can clip it on my bag or keys with the little strap. I don't often loose chapstick, but it does get buried under all the other stuff in my purse, lol. This makes it easy to find :)
I think my circles started out at about 4 inches. I haven't pulled them out this year because we're moving before Christmas, so everything is getting packed. Your regular fabric scissors should be fine. If your still having trouble making crisp cuts, try placing the pattern on the felt, then covering it with clear packing tape. This will hold everything in place flatter than pins will and it will also keep everything stiff while your cutting.
Yeah they are pretty easy to make the covers, if you were going to make the actual pillow, I'd suggest cutting the pattern 1 inch smaller, and omitting the zipper, sew most the way around (wrong sides together) then turn it, stuff it, and use an invisible stitch to close the hole. I'm sure it would be fast and easy, the only way it could get expensive is if you bought really nice fabric and stuffing. Most the time you can find used pillows at second hand baby shops, then just make your own new covers :)
Great colors, I really like the one with all the leaf beads :)
aww those are cute :)
Thanks for all the Favorites :D Glad you think some of my stuff is cool!
love these too! :)
I love the ones with hearts and stars they look so pretty, especially the gold one <3
Yey! I can't wait to make my own and test out the combos :)
Cool! I looked all around for a coffin gift box (in October) and couldn't find one anywhere so I made one, then the very next trip to the craft store after mailing this I found one! Argh, lol. but I like how it turned out anyway.
I love yours a thousand time more than the original! You were so right to go with the sugar skull design instead of realistic, it just make it pop! Plus I love all the roses you added :)
These are really cute! They look great :)
woot woot :D We're partners for Christmas! *Happy Dance*
I don't have a pattern for it. I used a pattern I got from a magazine, and liked, but altered the pattern a lot and changed colors when they didn't. So I pretty much made this one up. But if you're an experienced crocheter you can figure it out, It and adult size beanie, using HDC, with a color change 5 rows from the end (brown) and then one row of SC to finish (black). Hope that helps a bit.
no :) the plastic wont melt in the oven. Crazy huh! you need to take the ink out 1st, tha'ts why you need to buy the types of pens that have the ink pull out from the tip, rather than from the back of the pen. And don't glue on any plastic rhinestones until after baking, but the plastic pen parts are just fine in the over
That is too cute! I love it :D
Aww I love that game, and these guys are so adorable :D
Those look really easy and fun! I love the colors you used for your slippers :D
Lol thanks :) I am pretty cool, jk!
I love how simple they are :D those are really cool!
These are cool! If I can find some scraps long enough I am totally making these :)
That's adorable! I love the tiny flower, it really makes a great finished look <3
These are really cute, I'll totally have to try this pattern <3
LOL good to know! XD
Those are really great, I love the buttons <3
That's a great idea! I want to make one for going to see The Hobbit :)
Thats a really pretty design ^_^
your version is super cute! I love the look of the cover <3
Lol thanks :) Its like a post apocalyptic ipod touch thingy that that straps on your arm, from the Fallout video game series. The last pic is an in game screen shot of what it looks like
The only help I can give you is the link to the free pattern
You'd have to already know basic stitches though. But once you do its a great easy pattern.
LOL thanks :) You should see Luigi!
I love those gummy bears <3
Ohhhhh what! They are those cheap plastic ring things! I totally thought they were premade charms! I totally want to make some now <3 Epic idea!
This is fantastic! I love it , and the kid looks ecstatic about the new toy! I have to try this pattern out, I'm a huge minecraft fan.
I'd love to try this if I ever could catch a butterfly :) I totally agree about it being the most humane way they might die. If your going to appreciate them and they aren't endangered, I don't see the problem. We do way worse things to the animals we consume.
Oh duh, that sounds way easy! I really want to try this out now :)
Lol Thanks Vermin <3
If you read above I explained it, but basically its just craft foam glued to a hardback notebook and them painted :)
The clay is easy, you roll the color in to a long snake piece, a bit thicker than you want it to end up. Wrap the snake around the pen and smoosh/roll it between your fingers to smooth it out :) Follow the link to the blog I found that had the pen tutorial, its super easy!
Your pendant are very cool! I love your designs :)
This looks so cool! I need to try find some yarn like that to make one :)
I love that yarn! I've been trying to find yarn like that to make some pretty fall/autumn scarves. Your scarf is beautiful ^_^
Thanks Amie D! That's so nice of you <3
Yey! Thanks for checking it out for me Julie <3
Brandi! Thanks so much for the lovely granny squares! I really adore the yarn you used, and of course thanks for the amazing nail polish! I love it sooo much, lol <3 <3
I love this sweet headband! It looks awesome with the distressed paint look too :)
This sounds great! I love spicy hot cocoa. What kind of chilies have you used? Which would you recommend?
These are cute and easy! Now I know what to do for the next baby shower gift I need.
lol ok I will Amanda :) I didnt see this until just now, but good thing were swapping at the moment!
Oops, I meant to say...
Love this idea! I just bought six new pins today from the comic book store and was wondering where I could display them. Now I know. Thanks for the great idea Cat!
Do you have the link to the video for this hat? I love it :)
This is so cute! I love pill jewelry <3
Here's the cheesiest geek joke I know, (gets me every time!)
A star walks into a black hole, but doesn't seem phased.
The black hole turns to the star and says...
"Sir, I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation."
Ah I love Prof. Layton! I haven't played the last two though :( I just don't ever use my DS anymore, and am always caught up in PC and Xbox games. I was just wishing the other day that they would release them on ios! That would be amazing, I would play them everyday then.
Because of the theme of this issue of Snippets and my current obsession with all things geeky, I would love to make pens that look like different geeky loves of mine, like Light Sabers, HP Wands, Staffs like Gandalf, or Sonic Screwdrivers! <3
This is very cool! I love how different it is <3
Aww yours turned out super cute! Love the beads too :)
oh theses are adorable! I love them :D
The Baby's Breath and Carnation look amazing!
You should be able to right click them, save the pic, and then print them full size, so each pic is an entire 8.5x11 sheet of printer paper.
Yeah I do the same as Pumpkin - Black thin sharpie then colored pencils. But the pencils darken in the oven, so try and go a shade lighter or only color a tin layer (don't press super hard)
Also I think this looks awesome! Its cool that it turned out wavy, makes it look like Lady is flying :D
isobel.l you should upload your version as a project! Then we can see it too. :)
Sorry I didn't thank you for the nice comment you left on my page earlier, I didn't get a notification about it :S Sites been a little goofy with notifications lately. Anyway Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you like some of my projects :) I have way too much free time and also too many ideas, lol. <3 Pam
I love the colors! All I can ever find is brown and white bags.
Loooove it! Very cool colors :)
Hey PlanB the size when laid out open is just the regular size of the felt pages that you buy at the craft store :) about the size of a sheet of printer paper or 8.5X11 inches. I just used one color for the inside, sewed all the storage bits to it, then chose another color for the outside, and sewed decorations to that. Then sewed the inner and outer felt sheets together down the middle where it folds and lastly blanket stitched the two pages together around the edge :)
here is the baskets original pattern :D
opps---- wrong project, lol.
The pattern is for free at bernat.com it is called Giggles - Rainbow Blanket, you have to sign up (its free) and log in to get the pattern. Here is the link though http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=6493.
you can also get it from ravelry.com at this link http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rainbow-blanket---couverture-de-arc-en-ciel
I love the colors you picked :D very summer beachy!
Hummm idk what happened to my description.... Weird. Anyway to sum up what was there before,
I made this for my nephew who is due next month :) This is my first crocheted blanket of any kind, and it was a granny square style stitch, I dont know the technical term. It was very easy to get the hang of and worked up pretty fast. Also it didnt take a ton of yarn just about 1 skien of each color. It ended up being about 40x 35 inches, but stretches out a bit. I am really happy with how it turned out and my sister thinks its amazing!
Aww he is so cute <3 I love the Avengers too!
@ Pumpkin, its to preserve the freshness of the herbs, instead of drying them. This way you can toss the cube into a pan and let it melt when you need it, like when cooking chicken in a pan.
This is a good idea since we have our own herb garden, I've always dried mine or just put the whole leaves in a ziplock baggie in the freezer.
Oh oops- just one more thing :) I love stars and constellations. I painted over 30 on my bedroom celing (when I lived with my parents) and I put Sagittarius right above my bed so I could memorize it. When I buy my own home I will deffinetly do it again, maybe through out the whole house. Good things about glow in the dark paint is you cant see it at all during the day!
Sagittarius <3 I love it for more reasons than its my own sign. It's cool because it's the archer and it's element is fire. BruceLee is a personal hero of mine and he was a Sagittarius also :) Another fun fact I just learned today is that the center of the Milky Way is closest to Saggitarius. Oh and Sagittarius has more stars with planets than any other constellation, which I think is amazing! That means more chances for life than any other constellation!
I dont get notifications when you comment here, so if you want the link to where you can BUY the pattern, message me :) I will NOT give the pattern to you for free, someone put a lot of time into creating it and perfecting it, and I respect that.
Yeah I've used plaster of paris before, this project was a late night-spur of the moment sorta thing, so we used what we had, lol :D
Wood! I love seeing the things people come up with from making their own wood beads. Each tree has a different beautiful color inside.
I love Coke! I want to try this, it looks good :)
Very cool! I hadn't even seen this project until I say your post about it! I love it, the detail is awesome.
I will totally be trying this over the weekend! I think I'll mix up the colors a bit with some brighter summer colors :)
Those are super cute <3
Ps - do you think it matters what type of material the shirt is? What did you used? Thanks!
Oh I live this Yvonne! I've seen that original shirt before and really wanted it! Now I can make one :) Awesome!
very cool! did you enter this in the contest?
Hi! Sorry I didnt see your comment on my dragon plushie until now, but here is the link to the pattern I bought to make the dragon :)
Hope that helps :D
Those are super cute! I love the sprinkles :D
I love it :) She's so cute, even though she's a mutie <3 Very cool!
Yeah I thought they looked like Sopapillas also!
Thanks everyone!! I am glad you all think its awesome <3
@Hella B. - I totally made this to enter in the contest, lol! Thanks for the boost of confidence :D
I love the London fabric one!! It has a very special place at my crafting table now <3 you did a super job on them!
Hey I got the Kits today in the mail ^_^ I looooove the fabric! Thanks a bunch for the adorable needle book and pin cushion also. Are you having fun putting together the jewelry kits? I saw the memory wire bracelet and it looks very cool. Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend to sew up those kits you sent. Oh and did the chocolate bar make it to you OK? I was hoping it wouldn't get crushed or melt, lol!
My favorite Holiday photo was taken in Driggs, Idaho, USA. On the Idaho side of the Teton Mountains, across the state border from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was a 4th of July tradition that =my sister, my dad, and I would drive three hours from home to go camping and caving on the 3rd, then drive into Jackson Hole for site-seeing on the 4th and drive back to Driggs where we would watch the firework display at night. One the 5th of July, they have a huge hot air balloon race that takes off from Driggs and it takes place at a ridiculously early time in the morning. I just love how this photo came together as we were watching the balloons inflate in the crisp morning mountain air. My dad and sister seem to laughing about something awesome (bottom right) while I stepped back to take some photos, lol. Enjoy <3
Oh man I was working on one of the more detailed items today, and it was sooooo boring! Lol I was thinking in my head that I wanted to fast forward to the finished product XD The stuff I've been working on looks great so far, I just get bored quickly with the more tedious stuff, so I have been going back and forth between crafting and playing minecraft! Lol
Yey! I'm glad you finally got one of the packages :) Even better that you liked everything!! Thanks to being patient with the goofy postal service lol <3
Lol so I am in an Avengers overload! I loved the movie so soo much! And the comic books! Ive bought like almost 100 comic books in the last few months and 75% have been avengers! Also I've been buying a bunch of tiny action figures that are too cute! Some are chibi or kawaii and some are regular but they're all under 2 inches. I even bought a tokidoki Thor charm for my iPhone :D Anyways what's the plan for the Avengers swap? I have been buying extra avengers items for when ever we have the swap lol
Hey Joss! Guess what! I went to the comic book store today and guess what they had... Adventure Time!!!!!!!!! Amazing, right?! I bought 3 of the comics, so far there are 4 issues, but they only had #s 1,3,4 so I still need #2. The stories are different than the tv shows which is cool because I've seen most of them. Lol anyway are you going to host an Adventure Time swap soon! Ever since you mentioned it I've been thinking of ideas XD
Aww These are so adorable!!! I love Adventure Time <3
"Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge."
I love Einstein because he has some of the most profound quotes. I try and live by this quote everyday, especially when it comes to DIY and crafting because being able to imagine the amazing things you can do yourself will always give you the drive to figure out a way to make it happen.
I have only tried really easy projects like felted soaps, but I'd lie to make some adorable pixie hats for my new niece and nephew! The pointy ones just look so adorable on little ones. Of course then I'd make myself one also, because who doesn't live a good hat ;D
@lauren- in the USA #6 plastic is the kind you get from the supermarket bakery or deli. It's that clear, hard but thin plastic container that they put things like cookies, pastries or deli sandwiches in. It's recycle-able and has the #6 on the bottom. If you pull the stickers off as clean it you can draw on it with permanent markers. I like to clean it and the rough it up on one side with sandpaper, then draw on it with colored pencils, I just like how the colors turn out better with pencils. Anyway cut out you image and bake t just lie shrinky dink paper. :)
I love the traditional tacos from the food buses :D They are so simple but sooo good! They just have carne asada, cilantro, a slice of lime and some thin shaves carrots (soaked in hot sauce) all on a handmade tortilla! I crave those tacos all the time. I think the cilantro and lime really make it perfect.
Idaho- It has beautiful prairies, crystal clear rivers and lakes, and some of the most stunning mountains in the Rockies. No matter where you live you're only a few hours away from a large city like Boise, Coeur d'Alene, or even Salt Lake City in Utah. The seasons have a great balance, by the time you start to get cabin fever from the snow, spring shows up and when you think you've just about had enough of the dry, hot summers, fall winds start blowing in from the west. If your and outdoor adventure you can't possibly get bored with skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, ATVs, white water rafting, rock climbing and so much more. All of which are only minutes away. Most of all I love the simpler, slow paced way of life everyone seems to enjoy in my home state, Idaho <3
My Dream Breakfast Would Be...
French Toast with *Fresh* Huckleberry Syrup
Sausage Links, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns, Orange Juice and Coffee! From my favorite place in West Yellowstone <3 The location just makes it the best breakfast ever!
I wouldn't be able to eat it all, but I would try, lol.
Hey I saw your post about frinding the Dr's cross stitch pattern! I found one for you! I wasn't sure if you'd see the post, because it's been a while, so I just wanted to let you know I posted links to a larger pattern :D
I've just learned to crochet, and haven't even tried Granny Squares yet. The idea of changing colors scares me a little. But I saw an amazing throw blanket the other day that'd I'd love to try.
I would make a granny square blanket that has flowers as squares, in the colors of wild flowers! It would remind me of home <3
Thanks Libby & Zombicology :D I have so many beads I want to do this to now! Lol I feel like this is going to be my go-to pair of earrings.
I love Sailor Jerry's Rum!!! I always peel off the ladies on my bottles and save them :D
~Top Tip for Organizing Craft Supplies~
Save every bag, box and container!
You can always re-use them for storing everything from beads to fabric remnants and glitter!
When I get bored I love to learn to sew new bag patterns! I love to sew things for people that I know they can use everyday. Whether it is a clutch, purse, messenger bag or grocery tote I love learning new techniques to make them last longer and look better! I have a huge stash of grocery totes that I always keep in my car for when I go shopping!
I love this little guy!
Nope, I didnt get a tracking number on the package to you because the usps is stupid and they charge and extra $25.00+ to get tracking on international packages! Its ridiculous :(
I would totally make the 6 pack carrier on the cover! I always reuse my old cardboard carriers or take them back to the store. They let you mix and match bottles and make up your own 6 pack! This would be awesome to make them I could make extras as gifts! How cool :)
Argh! I'm not getting any kinds of notifications from CO+K lately :( Anyway I just saw your comment, lol. I can't believe you never got the necklace :(((( boo to the postal service! I'll message you my address though anyway. :D
2 of the pattern pieces are missing from this tutorial. Please go to this tutorial to find the complete pattern.
HEY EVERYONE! PLEASE NOTE THAT TWO OF THE PATTERN PIECES HAVE GONE MISSING! If you need them message me and I'll email them to you :)
Hey I got your package today :D Thanks for all the jewelry destash, I have already stated taking them all apart! I love the little dino charm. And all the hair accessories are awesome too, its cool that you made a little accessory felt book for all them too! Thanks a bunch, let me know how you like yours <3
Ahh! So cute Ashley! My ears are at a 4 and I can never find any good plugs either! all the cute ones are fake or too big, did you just glue the flowers/bows to the plain plugs?
AHHH! Lexi I tried the tea you sent me! The Yorkshire teas are soooooo good :) Thanks a bunch for making my morning delicious!
That is super cute <3
Ah its Gir! How cool! I love your version <3
How cool! I will have to try this out sometime :)
The wire is pretty thick, but its just aluminum so easy to bend, I think it was about a 22 or 20 gauge
Thanks Tiffany! Hopefully this year I'll remember to take photos while making stuff so I can do more How-to's lol :)
Hi :D thanks for the friend request! I love your cute little giraffe hats! they are super cute <3
Thanks Julie :) I think this year I'll be trying to do more tutorials, I always forget to take pictures while doing projects, so hopefully I'll be better at that in 2012! lol
This is super cute :) my husband is also in the military and he loves his paracord bracelet! It would be fun to make a necklace that i could wear to match his bracelet.
Hey Stephanie :) I was one of your partners for the Secret Santa X-mas Card swap. I hope you received yours ok. I havent heard from you, but I know everyone is super busy with the holidays. So let me know if you havent got the package, because I sent it out over a month ago. Happy Holidays <3
Hey Heather! I hope you got your ornaments and Christmas card from me ok :) I know you've been away for a while, but let me know when you get back if they al made it to you alright. TTFN <3
Alrighty ^_^ Your package is one it way to you! Hopefully it doesnt get too delayed by all the holiday shipping going on.
hehe thanks XD I'm glad you love all of it! I love Noel too, she is just an adorable doll! Enjoy your Holidays <3
I'd want a mustash temporary tattoo on my index finger!!! I have always thought that was such a brilliant idea and cleaver too. But I would never be able to stand the pain lol. So temorary ones would be amazing.
Or I'd want a baby's foot print on my belly when I finally get pregnant, ive seen the idea on baby shower cakes, it looks like the baby is kicking! So cute for a mommy to be who wants to show off her baby bump!
Hey guess what! I posted a teaser for you on the swap angels board :)
Yeah mailing out the in January is fine :) I know everyone is super busy with the Holidays.
Last time I asked about a tracking number to you they said that the only way to do it was to do express mail and then that would be like $30.00. But I sorta have a feeling that the lady was just trying to get me to stop asking questions, lol. I have to mail a package to Claire sometime this week, so I'll try and ask about it again and I'll let you know what I find out :)
Hola Sally :) I just wanted to double check that you wanted to swap for those Japanese Coins. I am keeping a set for ya, but let me know for sure <3
Hey Lacey :) I just wanted to double check that you really were for sure wanting to swap the Japanese coins with me. I'll save a set for you, just let me know. <3
Hey Joss :) I will totally send you a set of Japanese coins if you think there is any chance the might make it to you! No swapping required, lol. Let me know what you think. <3
HAYLEY!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH I GOT YOUR PACKAGE TODAY! I love it so much, lol. The Tea & Tin just made my day and the Rudolf Dotee is already up on my tree XD Thanks so much! I hope you get the one from me soon <3
These are so adorable! I really want to make a set :)
Ah! Iove that fleece you used ^_^ it looks super cute!
Hey Bella! I love ravelry.com! I just learned to crochet so I am always on there looking for easy projects :) I've found a bunch of really good ones for Christmas gifts this year!
What are you confused about Bella? Let me know if I can answer any question for ya :]
Thank you so much for the happy gram! I just love the wintery white felt tree <3
Hi :) you left a comment on my mug&mug cozie project, here is the link to the tutorial for it
Mine is a version of this one
I love this little stack! So great that you added authors to the spines! I totally need to make one now. Only how will I choose only three authors.... Agh too many favorites!
This is super cute! I think I'd make mine look like a teddy bear thoug ^_^ I have really bad allergies, so sometime I sleep with a cold gel eye mask when my eyes are itchy and puffy, I would be cute to stack them thoug just for the added cuteness lol.
I will def have to try out the crochet crown :) then I can wear it for my birthday dinner! Don't worry about the swap sweet c! I just hope it makes it to you soon, and safely. You can send to me whenever. No pressure :)
Hey Karen :) pm me your email address and I'll send you a pinterest invite, no problem!
Ah-ha! I love these things but can never find them where I live I the US, now I will be able to make some for the holidays. :)
Hi hi, thanks for the fav and great comment for my earring pins! I love the twist to regular earrings. I can't say I'd mind if the tutorial was featured either. ;)
Ahaha! Thanks "vermin jerky"! Lol I thought the earrings were pretty cool too :]
Hey JF, Mine looks different than the original, because instead of stringing then beads onto the thinner wire and then wrapping it around the thicker wire, I strung the beads onto the thicker wire and then wire wrapped around them. ^_^ (the anthropology necklace)
oh PS- Where did you find that crochet pattern for the crown headband? I really love it and want to make one for my birthday this weekend!
OK so I found a good washcloth pattern on raverly.com thats pretty easy, just double crochets that alternate in the front ad back looks, so it make a checker board design. Anyway its going good :) I tend to get bored of it quickly, lol so I only have one and a half finished! I def need to pick up the pack if I want to make a whole set before christmas, lol. When I do finish them though I'll take a pic and show you how they turned out :)
Oh hello Mary, fancy meeting you here. hehehe ^_^
I'm glad you got your hot cocoa card! It wasn't part of a swap, I just thought I'd send one to you <3 They were too cute to pass up at the store! Hopefully in between all the non-stop working you've been doing that you had time to relax and enjoy it :)
Hey sweet c! I mailed out your package last Friday :) so hopefully it will get there soon! Keep your eyes peeled!
I love these Christmas cards :) The Christmas pudding one is even cuter in person! I also think the one with the snowflake is adorable <3
Ahh I love that you used ribbon instead of thread on the spools! that looks really pretty, and I love the purply color ^_^ Makes me want to go make more spool jewelry, the necklace is so cute and adorable!
SAL! Hey lady :) Glad you liked my crochet scarves! It took making a billion coasters before I felt like I had the stitches down to try a scarf. But now I am a crocheting fool! I am making beanies, scarves, dishcloths, coasters, and even some jewelry! Only thing I have problems with is I still have no idea how to read the patterns, lol. Oh well, fake it till you make it ,right! ^_^
Well I will def try those slippers out after I get my Christmas stuff finished :) I learn a lot better with pictures, so that's awesome that they have a bunch on the blog! I was just looking at wash cloth patters today, and I was thinking that my mom might like some, or my sister could use some for her camping trailers stash! Have you got a good thick pattern? So far the best looking one I've seen is just all single crochet. Also any advice on types of yarn? Or is just regular cotton yarn ok?
I really want to try these, but I don't feel that confident with crocheting yet, lol. Maybe I'll try it after I finish all the scarves and snow hats I'm making for Christmas.
Hey Dani! Thanks for all the favs and comments <3 Glad you like my projects, lol.
Those are so cute! I love the necklace! The pattern looks like lots of hearts linked together <3 <3 <3 How awesome Joss! I Have been trying out tons of jewelry since you showed us that chainmaille site ^_^
Oh yeah, I am loving those snowflakes, the flat one looks pretty but I haven't ever felted anything before, so maybe I can try that out :) I've got way too much free time, lol but I figured I should start on gifts early because I am really new to crocheting and I wasn't sure how long it would take to make everything. Plus I have to make sure I mail everything out super early, so they don't get stuck/lost in the holiday rush. Did you see my other new projects? The coasters and scarfs are going to be gifts that I have already finished!
Hey Sweet C! What is up! I am just chillin, trying to bust out a huge list of handmade christmas gifts. I am trying to use my sweet new crochet skills to make scarves and snow hats for my family! I have 2 scarves done and 1 hat, sooo just 1 more scarf and 3 hats! o_O
I'm glad you got some inspiration from my felt ornaments! I thought they were really cute, and I love the mix of colors, sometimes the endless sea of traditional red&green gets really boring, especially with my manic mind, lol.
Got any other great ideas for christmas gifts/crafts? I need to make more decorations for my home :)
Just follow the link I provided if you want to see how she does it. Her video is great, I just alter her pattern in length and width :)
Haha! Thanks Julie! It took a lot of ugly dish cloths and coasters to feel confident enough to make the scarves and tukes! But I think of got the hang of it ^_^
Ok well, the side with the wire/ twist tie is the wrong side, the side without it is the right side of the fabric. So bend the wire into a "U" shape with right sides facing together. Then hold the fabric so that the wire is horizontal, now you have a top section of fabric and a bottom section with the wire being the dividing line. Pinch the top section at the middle of the "U" and fold it down, then take the bottom bit and fold it upwards. So both pieces meet at the middle (at the wire) now you can't see the wire.
Once you finish this part you can kinda mess with the shape of the wire and get it to look just right and also you can adjust your folds in the fabric to gets it to look good.
I hope that helped Nikki! :)
Argh! I see you already been attacked by the spam bot "CO+K user". You should def let Tom know about that. That thing is so annoying.
Anyways, lol, I just want to say "hello" ^_^ I loved your paper ring, very cute! Hope you don't mind that I added you to me friends list also.
I think this is super cute :) I love the look of the paper also, I can see why you picked that book to use! I bet these would be wonderful gifts! You could wrap them up in festive paper, and if you didn't want to give out all the exact same thing you could switch it up by glueing a flower to a brooch pin, hair clip, head band or even to a chunky necklace! You could do so many cool things with this pretty flower!
:) I love how you did the grommets and rings for the spine of the "book". That's a great idea for someone who has a lot of chunky earrings!
I made these this morning for my hubby and he loved them! I like them with no cream cheese frosting and a tiny bit of extra cinnamon icing spread on top! The caramelized fluffy cinnamon goodness is amazing :)
I agree it is super cute and I just love snow globes!!!
Welcome to CO+K!
I'm glad you love it as much as I do, lol!
Hey Monika! I am so excite that I get to create for you again! woot! Anyway I was wondering if you had any request for a gift you'd like? If not I think I have a few good ideas, but just thought I'd ask :) TTFN <3
Ohh Thanks Felecity! I'll have to try that!
Haha well I'll have to keep an eye out for an ice pick then. I live in Hawaii so no ice here lol. I'm glad you like the necklace ^_^
They were each about 6-7 inches wide before baking. They do curl up and almost look like they will be ruined, but then magically they flatten back out :)
Sorry hannah :S I never tried to fold the map, lol I just used the art for my project. :(
Hey Joss! Did you get your package yet?? I hope you have!
PS your new hair cut looks awesome :)
Hey Miranda! I tried to answer your question about the Dino Hat as best I could. I figured I'd post it here too, just in case you didn't check back on the projects page.
I would suggest printing it all out, putting the pattern together and then copying it on a scanner or copy machine but at like 75%, 50%, and 25% its original size. Then cut each one out and wrap it around the babies head, you want to have the pattern overlap about 1 inch, just so you make sure it isn't too small all sewn together.
If you have any other questions just let me know :)

Hey sandra! I tried to answer your question as best as I could :) So go check out my last comment on the project! If you still have Q's feel free to message me and I'll try and help you though out ^_^
@Sandra L- If you have already printed it out I would just wrap it around your head, while looking in the mirror and see about how much bigger you'd need to increase it. If the gap between the paper (when you wrap it around your head) is 2 inches, you should add on another 1 inch. So three inches total. If you want to be super sure it will fit, I'd say cut out just the lining of the hat, sew it together with a simple stay stitch. then try it on to make sure it fits and is the right size before cutting out the rest of the hat :)
Does that make sense? if not feel free to message me and I'll try to walk you through it!
(I'll go post on your wall too)
I love her! she is very cool! Thanks again :)
Ok, I'm trying again to upload a decent image...
Argh.. why do they turn out all squished? :(
Ok Here is mine ^_^ I took pictures with some of my fav items I've recived doing swaps on CO+K. I tried to pin as many as I could to the quilt in the background. Also I have my fav elephant stuffie, some matchboxes, and cupcake earrings I'm showing off in different photos :)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pascailpamela/6122296774/" title="Popbootj by pamela pascali, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6071/6122296774_b12abb7c10.jpg" width="138" height="500" alt="Popbootj"></a>

PS I love the new pic! The polka dots are awesome and so is the red lipstick. Its a good look for ya :) TTFN
Hey Kasia! I did finally recive your package yesterday! You sent soo much stuff! I love the book you made for me :) I am already trying out tonz of new things! Oh and thanks for the pins, the cupcake one is to die for <3 I'll get some photos up monday to show off what you sent me! Thanks again girl <3
Aww that is soo cute :) I love the lace!
ahh this looks so cute! And would be a perfect pair to the felt earring book I just made <3 I will totally be trying this!
This is such and amazing idea for wedding invites. Makes me want to get married all over again <3
As for the Contest- I'd send it to my best friend, Nickoal. Her and I have been BFF's since we stared school together, almost 19 years ago! She is an only child and I had a house full of siblings, so she always wanted to come stay at my house where there was tons of family around, and I always wanted to stay at her house where it was quite and empty! :)
I've only been able to see her once in the last 4 years, because my husband is in the military, and we've been moving around a lot. But chat as often as she can afford the long-distance call on her lan-line. So most of our updates are by snail mail :) I love sending her little "just-because" notes and cute things I've made for her (or her dog). It always makes my day when I get a card from her letting me know she is doing well and misses me. I think an adorable tiny letter filled with love would make her whole week, and probably make her cry a little too, lol.
oh thats a great idea! I've been making pumpkins and flowers for halloween jewelry. Its never too early to get started :)
Hey I saw your comment on my secrets stash book :) and just wanted to let you know that I didn't cut a big hole in a Harry Potter book, I used a cheap paper back book and then painted it to look like a Hogwarts textbook. So don't worry :)
Charlotte I didn't make it from a Harry Potter book... I made it from a cheep paper back book then painted it to look like the Hogwarts textbook. Lol
:D Thanks WillowBean! I have been making all these cute accessories non-stop. I cant get enough of them. I've made like 3 more today :)
Thans Hannah! I glad everyone like my Harry Potter stuff <3 I am sure Bindiibabe luvs all her goodies too!
Haha ^_^ Thanks Sigrunelise!
I love those strawberry earrings <3
Holy cow Sally! I tried.... Oh how I tried, to learn crochet on stupid Youtube! Over about a whole week of trying I made one extreamly lousy washcloth, and a ridiculous flower. Its quite sad :( I need like a step by step book with 5 billion pictures in it. I've found a few books that look good, but they are like $30. So I've decided (for the greater good of my self esteem) that I am great at the many crafts I already know and that I can handle waiting to learn to crochet until I am old and senile and no one will care if my projects turn out like a giant knot.
Ooooh That sandstone in th necklace is so pretty and shinny! <3 <3
Oh PS I was messing around with some scrap fabric the other day and made something pretty sweet, but not much to my style and I thought of you! PM me your address again and I'll send you a little gift!
HI JOSS! Hows your jewelry sales going? Did you sale very much at your school fare? I love the cute jewelry boxes you've been making :) I always check out your stuff on facebook, lol.

hey sal, quick question... I baked a bunch of clay last night and I baked them for a really lomg time, like 20 min. after they cooled though a few were still realy flexible. Should I just put them back in the oven for a while? Will that hurt them at all?

Thanks for all the sweet comments on my projects!
I tried to answer you Q's about them too, lol.
Micah! The secret to make them stay up is when you have sew in your that three bunches, that make up the middle part, do a small stich from a petal of one to the petal of another bunch. Just do a few stiches around so that they wont move apart and flatten out :)
@ Micha- I used colored pencils for some and permanent markers for others, they bothe turned out great :)
yummmm! I wish I knew the measurements that werent in metric, lol.
Hi hi! I had to come leave you a note on your profile because I love all the projects you've posted <3 So cool! Also I think your hair is rockin! lol I might have to steal that style XD

sometimes you can find them at the lego store online or one of their retail stores. But the best place to look is like Ebay.com or Etsy.com. Just search for Lego Coupling Bricks! Hope that helps :)

that is so cute! The design is so versatile too! You could change the colors and it becomes an orange, lime, lemon! Very neat.
Yup its just lace :D
I ironed mine before I took the pic, or wear them. But if you wanted you could spray startch them. Or even buy that permanent stiffening spray for fabric from the craft stores. I cant remember what thats called right now though, lol.
Holy cow youve been waiting for.ev.er to do the newbiew vs vet swap!! We had so many people in the US sign up at the same time and w/o international shipping. Its taken us Vets a while to get though the list. But I am here to let you know that if your still up for it I can be your vet :) Let me know what ya wanna do. <3 Pamela
HIYA MIKI!!! Hey I think that I am technically the closest Vet to you! I'm in Hawaii ^_^ Soooo I was wondering if you wanted to partner up for the Newbie vs Vet Swap? Let me know either way! <3 Pamela
Looking Good!! ^_^
To flatten out the bottle caps I take a pair of pliers and pinch the edge and bend the edge up a little bit at a time working in a circle around the cap. You actually want the edge of the cap to slightly curl up, instead of being "flat" so that when it lays aginst your skin you dont get scratched. If this doesnt make sense let me know, I'll do a tutorial :)

Hihi Corvus! I just wanted to come check out your profile since we are partners for the Matchbox swap!! Woot :) I hope you enjoy doing it while your waiting for the Newbie vs Vet swap, I am usually a Vet for that swap, but have family visiting this next week for a while, so I wont have all the extra time to put into a big swap-a-roo like I usually do for the newbie vs vet swap. Anyway if you have any Q's just let me know :) TTFN

The next ones I try are going to be made with white cake and "funfetti" white frosting! Yummmm
If you dont like the Chocolate shell on the outside try just making the balls, then letting them chill for a few hours in the fridge! They are super good that way too!
This is so amazing! What and awesome idea, now if only I could get my husband to buy me some sweet flowers! lol
Thanks for sharing!!
Hey! Thanks for the <3, lol I got reeeeeally bored that day and started messing with my camera! That was a while ago though. When my hair was still black. Its faded out since I moved to Hawaii, all this sunshine is making it lighten up a lot!

@MinniMunch- I love the paper you used! I like yours even better then the original <3 <3
Hey Michelle! I'm glad you like my little sketchbook! It took me like three days of messing with it to get it just right. So I can really do a step by step tutorial for ya. But I have since then found a few on this site that are actually really great. Just search for sketchbooks or journals. I think I even have some save to my own favorites if you cant find them a different way :) hope that helps.
@Tasha For the necklace I just made each pencil point into a wire wrapped link with a small white bead on each side. And then connected them to a chain :) I already gave away the jewelry and I really dont want to make more, lol I dont have a saw so it took me for.ev.er to cut them up!
If you need tips with wire wrapping let me know :)

The easiest way i have found to make the edges of my projects look polished it deffinetly learning how to "blanket stitch" its way easy and always looks good plus it holds the felt together great it you plan on putting some stuffing into it. Like with plushies.
Learning a few simple embroidery stitches has really helped me out. And i just learned by searching for how tos with google!
I hope that helps you out :)
Oooh i like the little orange guy! Hes cute <3
Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! I am super excited that this project got featured! <3

Well you said that I could send you some kawaii fabric for the geeky swap, and I wanted to know if you wanted some more of the same style your bag was made from, the other fabric pictured in the Kawaii Bags projects, or a cutesie more vintage kitschy style. So three to choose from :D let me know!
