Cat Eye Glasses! My mom has a pair my grandma wore and the are so awesome looking. They're black with a curly ivy design carved onto them. I always want to dress up in them when I was younger and even tried to wear them to school a few times. It didn't work out well because I don't need glasses and the prescription on them was quite thick lol.

Ou could always use some pretty scrap booking paper or a brown paper bag as the front cover, that way you could make your own design (or the recover could doodle on the from)

I just used a bit of glue in the knot and also used "fray check" on the ends, but if the ribbon is plastic you could just burn the ends a bit to keep it from fraying.

I love MissCake and all the wonderful designs there! I recently went to Nevada, and had fun gambling a bit while visiting my sister. Lady Luck didn't visit me much so I bought a little "Lucky Charm" to help improve my odds, it didn't work, lol. But I really loved all the little "lucky" bits for sale. So I sketched one up in the style of MissCake! It has the word "Lucky" in a cute font, but the "U" is a horseshoe, then attached at the end is a large Four Leafed Clover, for extra luck. The lettering is in a metallic gold, on a matte white back ground, the clover is an emerald green of course, all on a gold plated chain. Here is my rough draft and final idea :)

Yey! This is perfect for you then! I love that I can clip it on my bag or keys with the little strap. I don't often loose chapstick, but it does get buried under all the other stuff in my purse, lol. This makes it easy to find :)

I think my circles started out at about 4 inches. I haven't pulled them out this year because we're moving before Christmas, so everything is getting packed. Your regular fabric scissors should be fine. If your still having trouble making crisp cuts, try placing the pattern on the felt, then covering it with clear packing tape. This will hold everything in place flatter than pins will and it will also keep everything stiff while your cutting.

Yeah they are pretty easy to make the covers, if you were going to make the actual pillow, I'd suggest cutting the pattern 1 inch smaller, and omitting the zipper, sew most the way around (wrong sides together) then turn it, stuff it, and use an invisible stitch to close the hole. I'm sure it would be fast and easy, the only way it could get expensive is if you bought really nice fabric and stuffing. Most the time you can find used pillows at second hand baby shops, then just make your own new covers :)

I don't have a pattern for it. I used a pattern I got from a magazine, and liked, but altered the pattern a lot and changed colors when they didn't. So I pretty much made this one up. But if you're an experienced crocheter you can figure it out, It and adult size beanie, using HDC, with a color change 5 rows from the end (brown) and then one row of SC to finish (black). Hope that helps a bit.

no :) the plastic wont melt in the oven. Crazy huh! you need to take the ink out 1st, tha'ts why you need to buy the types of pens that have the ink pull out from the tip, rather than from the back of the pen. And don't glue on any plastic rhinestones until after baking, but the plastic pen parts are just fine in the over

If you read above I explained it, but basically its just craft foam glued to a hardback notebook and them painted :)

The clay is easy, you roll the color in to a long snake piece, a bit thicker than you want it to end up. Wrap the snake around the pen and smoosh/roll it between your fingers to smooth it out :) Follow the link to the blog I found that had the pen tutorial,its super easy!

Yeah I do the same as Pumpkin - Black thin sharpie then colored pencils. But the pencils darken in the oven, so try and go a shade lighter or only color a tin layer (don't press super hard)

Also I think this looks awesome! Its cool that it turned out wavy, makes it look like Lady is flying :D

Hey PlanB the size when laid out open is just the regular size of the felt pages that you buy at the craft store :) about the size of a sheet of printer paper or 8.5X11 inches. I just used one color for the inside, sewed all the storage bits to it, then chose another color for the outside, and sewed decorations to that. Then sewed the inner and outer felt sheets together down the middle where it folds and lastly blanket stitched the two pages together around the edge :)

Hummm idk what happened to my description.... Weird. Anyway to sum up what was there before,
I made this for my nephew who is due next month :) This is my first crocheted blanket of any kind, and it was a granny square style stitch, I dont know the technical term. It was very easy to get the hang of and worked up pretty fast. Also it didnt take a ton of yarn just about 1 skien of each color. It ended up being about 40x 35 inches, but stretches out a bit. I am really happy with how it turned out and my sister thinks its amazing!

@ Pumpkin, its to preserve the freshness of the herbs, instead of drying them. This way you can toss the cube into a pan and let it melt when you need it, like when cooking chicken in a pan.

This is a good idea since we have our own herb garden, I've always dried mine or just put the whole leaves in a ziplock baggie in the freezer.

Oh oops- just one more thing :) I love stars and constellations. I painted over 30 on my bedroom celing (when I lived with my parents) and I put Sagittarius right above my bed so I could memorize it. When I buy my own home I will deffinetly do it again, maybe through out the whole house. Good things about glow in the dark paint is you cant see it at all during the day!

Sagittarius <3 I love it for more reasons than its my own sign. It's cool because it's the archer and it's element is fire. BruceLee is a personal hero of mine and he was a Sagittarius also :) Another fun fact I just learned today is that the center of the Milky Way is closest to Saggitarius. Oh and Sagittarius has more stars with planets than any other constellation, which I think is amazing! That means more chances for life than any other constellation!

My favorite Holiday photo was taken in Driggs, Idaho, USA. On the Idaho side of the Teton Mountains, across the state border from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was a 4th of July tradition that =my sister, my dad, and I would drive three hours from home to go camping and caving on the 3rd, then drive into Jackson Hole for site-seeing on the 4th and drive back to Driggs where we would watch the firework display at night. One the 5th of July, they have a huge hot air balloon race that takes off from Driggs and it takes place at a ridiculously early time in the morning. I just love how this photo came together as we were watching the balloons inflate in the crisp morning mountain air. My dad and sister seem to laughing about something awesome (bottom right) while I stepped back to take some photos, lol. Enjoy <3

Lol so I am in an Avengers overload! I loved the movie so soo much! And the comic books! Ive bought like almost 100 comic books in the last few months and 75% have been avengers! Also I've been buying a bunch of tiny action figures that are too cute! Some are chibi or kawaii and some are regular but they're all under 2 inches. I love Einstein because he has some of the most profound quotes. I try and live by this quote everyday, especially when it comes to DIY and crafting because being able to imagine the amazing things you can do yourself will always give you the drive to figure out a way to make it happen.

I have only tried really easy projects like felted soaps, but I'd lie to make some adorable pixie hats for my new niece and nephew! The pointy ones just look so adorable on little ones. Of course then I'd make myself one also, because who doesn't live a good hat ;D

@lauren- in the USA #6 plastic is the kind you get from the supermarket bakery or deli. It's that clear, hard but thin plastic container that they put things like cookies, pastries or deli sandwiches in. It's recycle-able and has the #6 on the bottom. If you pull the stickers off as clean it you can draw on it with permanent markers. I like to clean it and the rough it up on one side with sandpaper, then draw on it with colored pencils, I just like how the colors turn out better with pencils. Anyway cut out you image and bake t just lie shrinky dink paper. :)

I love the traditional tacos from the food buses :D They are so simple but sooo good! They just have carne asada, cilantro, a slice of lime and some thin shaves carrots (soaked in hot sauce) all on a handmade tortilla! I crave those tacos all the time. I think the cilantro and lime really make it perfect.

Idaho- It has beautiful prairies, crystal clear rivers and lakes, and some of the most stunning mountains in the Rockies. No matter where you live you're only a few hours away from a large city like Boise, Coeur d'Alene, or even Salt Lake City in Utah. The seasons have a great balance, by the time you start to get cabin fever from the snow, spring shows up and when you think you've just about had enough of the dry, hot summers, fall winds start blowing in from the west. If your and outdoor adventure you can't possibly get bored with skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, ATVs, white water rafting, rock climbing and so much more. All of which are only minutes away. Most of all I love the simpler, slow paced way of life everyone seems to enjoy in my home state, Idaho <3

You can always re-use them for storing everything from beads to fabric remnants and glitter!

Whether it is a clutch, purse, messenger bag or grocery tote I love learning new techniques to make them last longer and look better! Hey JF, Mine looks different than the original, because instead of stringing then beads onto the thinner wire and then wrapping it around the thicker wire, I strung the beads onto the thicker wire and then wire wrapped around them. ^_^ (the anthropology necklace)

oh PS- Where did you find that crochet pattern for the crown headband? I really love it and want to make one for my birthday this weekend!

OK so I found a good washcloth pattern on raverly.com thats pretty easy, just double crochets that alternate in the front ad back looks, so it make a checker board design. Anyway its going good :) I tend to get bored of it quickly, lol so I only have one and a half finished! I def need to pick up the pack if I want to make a whole set before christmas, lol. When I do finish them though I'll take a pic and show you how they turned out :)

I am making beanies, scarves, dishcloths, coasters, and even some jewelry! Only thing I have problems with is I still have no idea how to read the patterns, lol. Oh well, fake it till you make it ,right! ^_^

Well I will def try those slippers out after I get my Christmas stuff finished :) I learn a lot better with pictures, so that's awesome that they have a bunch on the blog! I was just looking at wash cloth patters today, and I was thinking that my mom might like some, or my sister could use some for her camping trailers stash! Have you got a good thick pattern? So far the best looking one I've seen is just all single crochet. Also any advice on types of yarn? Or is just regular cotton yarn ok?

Haha! Thanks Julie! It took a lot of ugly dish cloths and coasters to feel confident enough to make the scarves and tukes! But I think of got the hang of it ^_^

Ok well, the side with the wire/ twist tie is the wrong side, the side without it is the right side of the fabric. So bend the wire into a "U" shape with right sides facing together. Then hold the fabric so that the wire is horizontal, now you have a top section of fabric and a bottom section with the wire being the dividing line. Pinch the top section at the middle of the "U" and fold it down, then take the bottom bit and fold it upwards. So both pieces meet at the middle (at the wire) now you can't see the wire.

Once you finish this part you can kinda mess with the shape of the wire and get it to look just right and also you can adjust your folds in the fabric to gets it to look good.

I think this is super cute :) I love the look of the paper also, I can see why you picked that book to use! I bet these would be wonderful gifts! You could wrap them up in festive paper, and if you didn't want to give out all the exact same thing you could switch it up by glueing a flower to a brooch pin, hair clip, head band or even to a chunky necklace! You could do so many cool things with this pretty flower!

:) I love how you did the grommets and rings for the spine of the "book". That's a great idea for someone who has a lot of chunky earrings!

I made these this morning for my hubby and he loved them! I like them with no cream cheese frosting and a tiny bit of extra cinnamon icing spread on top! The caramelized fluffy cinnamon goodness is amazing :)

They were each about 6-7 inches wide before baking. They do curl up and almost look like they will be ruined, but then magically they flatten back out :)

I would suggest printing it all out, putting the pattern together and then copying it on a scanner or copy machine but at like 75%, 50%, and 25% its original size. Then cut each one out and wrap it around the babies head, you want to have the pattern overlap about 1 inch, just so you make sure it isn't too small all sewn together.

@Sandra L- If you have already printed it out I would just wrap it around your head, while looking in the mirror and see about how much bigger you'd need to increase it. If the gap between the paper (when you wrap it around your head) is 2 inches, you should add on another 1 inch. So three inches total. If you want to be super sure it will fit, I'd say cut out just the lining of the hat, sew it together with a simple stay stitch. then try it on to make sure it fits and is the right size before cutting out the rest of the hat :)

As for the Contest- I'd send it to my best friend, Nickoal. Her and I have been BFF's since we stared school together, almost 19 years ago! She is an only child and I had a house full of siblings, so she always wanted to come stay at my house where there was tons of family around, and I always wanted to stay at her house where it was quite and empty! :)
I've only been able to see her once in the last 4 years, because my husband is in the military, and we've been moving around a lot. But chat as often as she can afford the long-distance call on her lan-line. So most of our updates are by snail mail :) I love sending her little "just-because" notes and cute things I've made for her (or her dog). It always makes my day when I get a card from her letting me know she is doing well and misses me. I think an adorable tiny letter filled with love would make her whole week, and probably make her cry a little too, lol.

Holy cow Sally! I tried.... Oh how I tried, to learn crochet on stupid Youtube! Over about a whole week of trying I made one extreamly lousy washcloth, and a ridiculous flower. Its quite sad :( I need like a step by step book with 5 billion pictures in it. I've found a few books that look good, but they are like $30. So I've decided (for the greater good of my self esteem) that I am great at the many crafts I already know and that I can handle waiting to learn to crochet until I am old and senile and no one will care if my projects turn out like a giant knot.

Micah! The secret to make them stay up is when you have sew in your that three bunches, that make up the middle part, do a small stich from a petal of one to the petal of another bunch. Just do a few stiches around so that they wont move apart and flatten out :)

@ Micha- I used colored pencils for some and permanent markers for others, they bothe turned out great :)

Hey thanks for the Fav on my butterfly wings :) I just used a plastic food container that has the #6 on the bottom. You just rough it up with sand paper and draw on it, then bake it like regular shrink paper XD

To flatten out the bottle caps I take a pair of pliers and pinch the edge and bend the edge up a little bit at a time working in a circle around the cap. You actually want the edge of the cap to slightly curl up, instead of being "flat" so that when it lays aginst your skin you dont get scratched. If this doesnt make sense let me know, I'll do a tutorial :)

Hey Michelle! I'm glad you like my little sketchbook! It took me like three days of messing with it to get it just right. So I can really do a step by step tutorial for ya. But I have since then found a few on this site that are actually really great. Just search for sketchbooks or journals. I think I even have some save to my own favorites if you cant find them a different way :) hope that helps.

@Tasha For the necklace I just made each pencil point into a wire wrapped link with a small white bead on each side. And then connected them to a chain :) I already gave away the jewelry and I really dont want to make more, lol I dont have a saw so it took me for.ev.er to cut them up!

How long should you let them boil for before draining them?

PS I did another set and used a hot glue gun, it turened out pretty much the same, so either will work just fine :D

Oh the brand I used was "Aleene's" Clear Gel, Tacky Glue" its just a regular craft glue, just that its a clear gel instead of the white glue.

The easiest way i have found to make the edges of my projects look polished it deffinetly learning how to "blanket stitch" its way easy and always looks good plus it holds the felt together great it you plan on putting some stuffing into it. Like with plushies.

Learning a few simple embroidery stitches has really helped me out. And i just learned by searching for how tos with google!

Hey Tavia! The plastic looking stuff on my bottlecap hairclips is just clear craft glue :D Hope that helps.

Oh its just Clear Craft Glue :D I put a little bit in the bottoms of the bottlecaps and then added the felt, then topped it off with a ton more glue!

Thanks Ariel! The pictures are just coloring pages I found on Google and printed out. Then I colored them with pencils, cut them down, and glued them in with clear craft glue. When they were dry I added an thick layer of clear craft glue on top. Then let them dry for a whole day.

I would love to visit Paris! To be able to visit so many different wonders all in the same city would be the trip of a lifetime. I would visit the Versailles Palace, Eiffel Tower, cruise the Seine River, and probally spend a week viewing everything in the Louvre Museum! After a day of seeing the sights I would love to sit down at a great little cafe and dine on delicious desserts and mascato!

My favorite thing about New York City is the food!! All the rich cultural foods! I love the street pretzels, coneydogs, cannoli, gyros! Its all amazing, and if your not in the mood for a hot dog, walk a block and there is somthing completly different! Yummm, now I'm hungry XD

@ Sally, the magnet is from a magnetic jewelry clasp, I found some at walmart. Just cut off the hoop part that ou would use to connect it to the necklace.

@ Ann, Check out Caeli L's Bottle Cap Locket tutorial. I just switched out the ribbon for a jump ring. I made the holes in the caps by using a tiny nail and hammer.

I love how you made all of different elements work together! Also I LOVE THE COLOR! Great job!

Hey Jet, found out that in the united states I can find those types of bottles from your projects at the grociery store. I guess the only thing sold in them is vitiamn C tablets you disolve in water or tea. Anyway thanks for the lovely note and crafty ideas! <3

I donated thid set to a silent auction to raise money for a friend of my father's who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and it raised $168.00 all by its self!! All together the four sets of jewelry I donated brang in over $600.00! All for a great cause.

You just glue the scrapbook paper to the cardboared cover. Then fold the excess over and glue to the inside of the flaps. I cute out the LOVE parts from the same scrapbook paper and just glued it on last, the alice one I just printed off the computer then glued it on.
