In the very beggining you have to paste the 1/3 of the base with tape or with glue stick, as you prefer. When you finish ruffling the strips you end up with something similar to a mini bouquete, you just have to cut the excess of the little leg (at the top of the first picture you can see the white part of the little leg of mine had left before I cut it) and stick it to the present with tape.

I cut strips through 2/3 of the post it and curled the strips with scissors half of the strips inside out, the other half outside in. If you need a deeper explanation please let me know, I didn't take pictures of the process but I can make some examples for your reference.

Svenning: Thanks for your comments =D Truth is I've been practicing for my stencils to look not made at home, just because I'm weird LOL! It depends on the trademark of fabric paint you use, mine is more liquid. There's a type of fabric paint that is similar to the acrilic paint, that's not a good one, it usually leaves sticky lumps that usually ruin your stencil. And I use Tizzalicious' method for stenciling, see the link:

About your question.. yes, the fabric paint lasts a lot, without loosing color, I mean the Joker t-shirt is practically new, but I've been doing t-shirts with this method since more than a year ago, and all of them, since the very first, looks as recently stenciled, and believe me: my boyfriend uses his t-shirts reeeally often. Of course, your t-shirt will look used as much as you use it, but your stencil will stay even longer than the t-shirt (weird, but true =D) Happy stenciling, I'd love to see your project. =D
