We head to Mt Pleasant in Michigan to meet craft addict and anthropology student, Lisa!
I believe I did a Google search for "Random Craft Ideas." I wanted to find some inspiration because I was having a major craft block. I stumbled upon this site and saw all the amazing projects. I was instantly hooked.
I am hoping to get a sweater underway. It will be my first. I have some glass etching projects lined up which I hope to get to soon. Also, I am currently working on a few swap projects. But those are a secret! =^_^=
A random mess. Haha. I am still in college so I don't have much space. It shifts from my bed (which is lofted), to the couch corner, to the living room floor. It really depends on the size and materials used for the project, as well as the time of day. I don't have a lot of places to put things so I have certain bags designated as 'craft bags' that hold supplies I need for current projects. Which works out because this way it is easy to transport the projects I am working on. Incense everywhere, I love them. For extra materials, such as yarn I am not currently using, I keep them in storage bins under my bed. Also, for projects such as knitting and some beading and such, I go to the local coffee shop on campus.
I added a picture of my cat because he is ALWAYS in my craft spaces!
I use my plier set A LOT. I bought it when I was teaching jewelry classes at Michael's Craft Stores 5 years ago and I still use it all the time. Also, I love my Loctite heavy duty glue and my sewing machine. These are my top 3 by far.
I craft along to a mix of TV Shows, Music, and Movies. It depends on which space I am crafting in. In terms of TV Shows and Movies I like to put in things I have watched quite a bit so I can just listen and know what is happening. I also listen to the news (example BBC World News, NHK, etc.). Daria, Doctor Who, and Grey's Anatomy are the TV Shows I use most. Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Death Note (live action), and Everything is Illuminated are the Movies I use most. The most recent music I have been crafting to is Fiona Apple, The Cure, The Cranberries, Marilyn Manson, and The Buddha Bar Music Series.
In high school, my art teacher really got me hooked on jewelry making. It is definitely one of my favorite things to make. I also love to knit hats.
I would love to learn how to make resin pendants and molds. Also, I want to try my hand at French Macaroons. They are my FAVORITE cookie. In addition to the actual cookie, I love all the cute macaroon sculpey projects and would love to try my hand at such intricate sculpey work.
My Grandparents. They have always been into art and have always supported any and all of my creative endeavors. My Mother. She has been knitting and crocheting ever since I can remember. She taught me how. I would also have to say the entire CO+K Community. The amount of inspiration and creative energy that come flowing out of everyone here is absolutely amazing.
