Thanks! I actually used a dress for the lace. My sister gave me this GIANT lace dress and I've been cutting it apart for years. I used up what I had left on this project. I love to see how yours turns out!!
Are they real Twinkies? Cause I'm curious about when the Twinkies go bad. That would be a gross mess and would ruin all that work if the bags got holes in them, or bugs. If they are real, maybe replace them with fake Twinkies?
Lol, you don't have to used your old barbies if you don't want to. You can buy a cheap one from the Goodwill for like a dollar, or a bag of three or four for 5 dollars from a Value Village if you have one.
Thanks. Normally I don't work with shapes like this. Stuff like this doesn't really suit my tastes. Mostly I just get the little unfinished boxes. I love decking those out. But it was for my friend's baby so I figured I'd give it a try. I gave it to her today and she loved it.
Thanks. I tried playing with other colors for the eyes, but nothing really popped but the red. I really wanted green eyes, but I didn't have enough light green felt. Plus red has more of a monster feel to it.
Wow that's so random. When I found it I was kinda confused, cause I had never seen it before and had no clue where it came from. I think it came from one of my sister's friends. Same for the purple one I used.
I wasn't looking for neat and tidy. I was just thinking that if the holes weren't hemmed then they would just keep getting bigger over time, and then the whole thing would just be a few scraps of fabric and thread. And you said it took you two days to finish this, if it took me the same amount of time, and it came out awesome as yours did, then I wouldn't want two days of hard work to go to waste.
Yeah I didn't think a folding one would work. Basically snagging is when the fabric of your tights, or hose, gets caught on something and it makes a hole in the fabric. Did you sew up the edges of the holes you made?
Yeah I didn't think a folding one would work ether. In America "snagging" on a pair of tights or hose is when the nylon gets caught on something, like a zipper, and causes a hole to start, or worse a run on the leg of the nylon. Did you sew up the seams around the holes you made?
I love this, and I want try one for myself. What kind of umbrella did you use? The tall walking stick kind, or the smaller compact folding kind. And do you have snagging issues when you close it up?
