I use Hershey's cocoa powder, the kind that says dutch processed across the top of the package. I have also used the "special dark" version of the plain cocoa powder. Both make yummy sauce....
I am not much of a cook, so most of the cooking type things I do are chocolate, sugar or some other sweet thing. ☺ I can play in the kitchen for hours if something sweet and yummy comes out of it, I am currently working on a carmel/butterscotch version of this... but not ready for publication just yet!

I have kept "left overs" in the frige for a few days, but don't know the shelf life because it gets eaten too fast ! ☺

my sister does a cake like this with slightly different ingredents she calls it a zebra cake for it's stripes.
