Hey. the shoes weren't canvas ummmm I don't actually know what they were made of, general leather combination shoes I guess. But I used acrylic paint which works on most materials and I am sure it would work fine on canvas - after all when you do a painting thats on canvas. I would probably by a spray varnish to use on them after you have applied glitter.
I have made quite a few pairs of these on diff kinds of shoes and they all seem to work out fine.
