I'm usually ambidextrous in writing, sewing, well just about everything. I've sort of had my wing clipped...LOL I can do small stuff slowly so you may see some projects soon. Good idea to get the right setting for photo's. Can't wait to see them Happy

Hi there. Sounds like you are really busy with your outfit and I like the ideas you have come up with. Know what you mean about the hight of the hat. I'm going to make it shorter too as we have a 13yr old who is taller than me. The proportions wouldn't work for me either. They call me shorty at home...lol. I haven't been able to craft recently as I have an unstable shoulder. It got totally dislocated last month and the physio says she can't do anymore which probably means surgery. I can do small hand crafts which I have to make slowly, but no heavy sewing Happy Will have to make sure I reduce my time to make bit if I do any crafts...lol Happy

Hi again. I have the tutorial link as a fave for the hatter project but it wouldn't load for me. Hope it works for you. If not my 'how to' will be ok. If you are doing the rest of the outfit I can talk you through how it's done Happy

Hi Sarah. You will need a piece of card a bit thicker than cereal box card. Measure around your head where you want it to fit. This measurement will be the width. Add 2cm to allow for the overlap. The height is up you. Make it into a tube. You can work out the diameter mathmatically or do what I do, draw round it on another piece of card for the top. Then add 6 cm all the way round.
It's best to use a heaving weight fabric than the one's used for the small hats to make it more stable.
If you are feeling brave you can sew the brim with a sewing machine. You will have to leave more of the stretch fabric at the bottom before you put the brim on as it will be considerably bigger. You can also make the hat a little bigger, put a strip of sponge around the inside and add lining to make it more comfortable. After the main construction of the base hat use my 'how to' for the mad hatter headband.
Let me know if you need any help with the construction Happy

Yes that hat will work full size. I'm in the process of making one. I'm using the metal from a wheel trim for the rim. You can also use a ring from a lamp shade, just cover it with tape so the fabric doesn't slip Happy
