About

The only thing I can think to say to describe myself is: I'm a feminist Happy This is all encompassing because this fact is reflected in every aspect of my life and all of my choices advocate feminism.

One of my favorite quotes is:
"Things are not always what they seem to be. Truth lies hidden beneath the surface, and you must ferret it out." -Women's Ways of Knowing

I think those of us who choose to express ourselves artistically do so in order to "ferret out," or extract, our deeper feelings, whether those emotions are of a darker or brighter nature. I often find myself ripping and slashing paper, or throwing and splashing paint, when "something" is really bothering me. The "somethings" inside my mind provoke a search for the more intense meanings behind those unknown, no-name feelings I experience. They have to be expelled; not narrowly contained. Creativity gives your inner-most self a microphone to project itself onto the material of your choice.
