I am a mother of three with two grandchildren. I have been legally blind for about seven years, and as a result, cannot do some of the crafts that I used to do; beading mostly, and that saddens me. I live in Arkansas in the country with people to drive me to the store, etc. I am married, have three big dogs, and many cows. I raise gourds hoping to learn more about crafting them. I have made a gourd giraffe, a gourd elephant and a gourd "prehistoric" turtle. I have more items started, but get bored easily, and have lots of things "in progress". I still have my beads, LOADS of them; I make dreamcatchers; play with polymer clay, paper mache, and have recently learned to hand weave rag rugs on frame looms. I lave WAY too much crafting supplies, but am satisfied knowing that if a thought or idea comes my way, I probably already have the supplies to make it.
I still love to read, although I'm not as fast as I once was. I collect vintage table lighters, blown glass items, and vintage costume jewelry. I watch TV, play alot of games online, and try in vain to get myself organized, but with my husbands humor about my crafting, it is easy to get lost in it all and forego the organizing and just create.
I hope to put some how-to's on here, and love to see what others are creating. I am not an artist in the way that my mind sees one (a painter, for example), but I have been told that I am an artist. I just like to try new things to make, and have fun doing it.
