About

I am a 43 year old kid! I'm married for the second time and I have 1 son from my previous marriage. ( He's married now) and I have a Beautiful grandson who steals my heart! My hubby and I have a 4 legged child, Jacki, our spoiled scottish terrier. I live Fort Valley, VA- right smack in the Shenandoah Valley. I moved to VA from GA when my son was 3 years old. I was a Realtor but due to a back injury and permanent nerve damage, I can't work. I deal with pain 24/7. I decided rather than sit and be depressed, I'd teach myself to knit. I can make scarves, dishcloths, afghans. I would love to be able to make me a sweater, but all I can do is knit and purl and Yo!! To make it more interesting, I am left handed! I LOVE crafts! anything to get my hands messy! I've been doing ceramics since I was 4 yrs old. I like polymer clay, shrink plastic, painting on canvas, wood crafts, etc.... I don't have any neighbors so I rely on the internet and the friends I make there.
Oh, I also make gourmet Dog bones. Our store in Ft. Valley buys my bones and she sells them. I haven't found a dog that hasn't liked my bones!
I hope to make more friends here!

i'm a self-taught knitter as well. the tutorial in the first Stitch N Bitch book on knitting in the round is really great. basically, you just have to get used to turning your project as you knit it. the hardest part is casting on to multiple needles, but you could also just cast on to one and then purl them over to the others.

i hope that wasn't really confusing. o.O
