I love this book, it is full of really useful information not just about techniques but about the whole design process. It covers a really good range of techniques without trying to cram too much in.
My New Year's revolution is to invent an army of robot badgers that will help me with cleaning and admin, leaving me time to make all the other things in my head. Failing that I'll just have to be more organised and stop procrastinating. But I'd prefer the badgers...
A very sensible and lovely person taught me that the easiest way to be happy is not to get what you want but to want what you've got. Whenever I feel down I remind myself of all the lovely people in my life and all the lovely things about my life and it helps me get things in perspective and feel a lot better.
I'm always collecting the bits of fleece from fences, you never get enough to make anything big but I'm sure there's jewellery to be fashioned form these bits of discarded sheep!
This is actually one of the most difficult questions I've ever been asked. I feel I should say something practical or sensible but the thing which keeps popping into my head is 'shiny things.' Any shiny things. I love shiny things. I need shiny things in my life.
I like to take small knitting projects on circular needles (like hats and arm warmers) when I go on trains. I used to take straight needles but always ended up poking the person next to me with them, not conducive to a relaxing journey for either of us!
I love bags that I can get all my junk in, it's amazing how much random stuff I carry around. I would love a bag that allowed me to carry all my random bits and bobs but magically made it all lighter and thus easier on my shoulders.
Anything with pockets! All clothes should have pockets, especially secret ones (secret pockets not secret clothes.) I think pockets on dresses are essential for summer :)
I'd like to make a pair of badger slippers. I'm not really sure why, I just think badgers would be extra good at keeping your toes cosy. *Goes off to rummage for suitable badger materials...*
The fabric came from abakhans in Manchester, they quite often have cute printed jerseys. I've not seen this fabric again but I've just got some with pandas on!
Cute! If you sew the edges of the sleeves together and turn them to the inside you could have pockets. I've done this on a similar project it works really well :)
Hi everyone, thanks for the comments and faves. Rabbitje; if you pre-wash your tshirt and applique fabric (in case they're going to shrink) before you start then it will wash fine when its all finished. Have fun and please post the results :)

This is so cute. I'm a bit obsessed with making suffolk puffs/yo-yos at the moment but haven't made any this tiny. I may have to change that...

My friend and I are planning to make human sized felted mushrooms for a festival this year. We're going to need a lot of sheep....

Does cloud watching(looking for crazy cloud shapes) count as a craft? If not then it has to be tatting as it's small and neat and always in my bag!

When I'm bored I like to design new projects or pick up semi finished ones, usually knitting but often sewing or crochet projects too.

Thank you Kylie and Vicki and everyone who's loved this. I'm very excited to have my project featured :)

I would sew a capelet to keep the sun off my shoulders (and so I could pretend to be a superhero)

I would like to print a lovely door screen for the log cabin I work in so that I can enjoy the afternoon sun pouring in without us all being blinded!

Hi! Thanks for the how-to requests. I can't upload pictures onto this site for some reason but as soon as I overcome this barrier I will add a how to.

I will get round to doing a how to for this, can't believe its all that time since I first posted this!
