About

I live in the Pacific NW with my husband, roommate, and two dogs. I learned to crochet when I was six and I started playing around with sewing machines at the age of 12. I didn't really start sewing and quilting 'til about 1995 and I haven't stopped since.

I have recently learned to knit. My motivation for creating as much of what I wear as possible is because it fits better and lasts longer than anything I can buy in a store. While in regards to fabric, it's no longer cheaper to buy fabric and make clothes than to buy stuff ready made, when you look at the length of time something is useable, hand made still wins every time.

I'm amused by the "go green" attitude of repurposing materials. Home sewers have been doing this for generations. It's nice that it's catching on, though.
