The light fixtures in our house have plastic tappered piping pieces that unscrew and hold the shades up and on (I don't know any of the technical names for the parts, sorry)
It should also state, that at Step 4 I sewed the elastic to the shirt using a straight stitch using my sewing machine. I completely forgot that bit o.O
