You should use a slightly damp toothbrush and apply a nourishing lipbalm(preferably organic) afterwards. Brush your lips only about once a week so as not to damage them.

great article! I've previously seen green cleaning recipes but some of the ingredients were hard to source but yours are great!

....use a timer in the shower set for 3 minutes
....with most dishwashers you shouldn't have to rinse your dishes before you place them in the machine, just scrap off food scraps into the bin
....when giving gifts try and put the presents in giftbags rather than wrapping them so they can be re-used
....look for tissues,paper towel and toilet paper made from recycled materilas,in your supermarket
....buy clothes from the op shop when ever you can
....try and get a solar powered phone charger
....use the lamp in your bedroom rather than the main light,whenever you can as usually your lamp light will be of lower wattage
....if you always use the dryer try using the washing line every once in a while
....next time one of your house lights blow replace it with an energy saving bulb and gradually do this to your other light bulbs so that eventually all your lights are energy saving
....rather than just putting the newspapers in your recycling bin, add an extra little bin inside your house designated just for products that can be recycled so that every scrap of paper,cardboard,etc is recycled
....keep a bucket with you in the shower to catch excess water and use that water to flush your toilet

you should be able to import the project from your blog to CO&K, Cat made a special feature so that you could do so.

My friend K@ti made me some of these a while ago. I'll have to post a pic. She also made some out of starburst wrappers.

You can just use hot water straight from the tap and put it into a bowl instead of putting it in a pan.

I made these in my cooking class. We added bean sprouts. A peanut sauce is a great idea though!

Here's how to post pictures on blogs and the message boards.
#1 go to www.photobucket.com.au
#2 create an account on photo bucket
#3 Upload pictures onto your account
#4 copy and paste the html code (underneath the picture you want) on the blog or board post that you're writing and voila!

Note- you might want to resize the picture by pressing edit on the phototbucket account if the picture was from your camera as usually it will be too big

You can also go to www.photolava.com, you don't need to create an account or anything but it doesn't have as many features, it's best if you're in a hurry. With photolava though, in the html code, part of it will be for a ad (this'll make more sense when you try it) which I highly doubt you want so delete the last half of it, starting from the <a

The tissue cozy pattern is just what i was looking for- no joke, and the pattern was free!!!

My reason for wanting a tissue cozy was because i really like those little pre-done travel packets of tissues but after reading this book on being eco-friendly I realised it was a waste of packaging for such a small amount of tissues plus it was a waste of money, so this way, it'll look cute, be cheap and good for the environment! yay!

God, that's sad, I don't even know which way to pronounce my name!
The main reason I hate my name is coz no-one can pronounce it! K@ti-I think modpodge is kinda like the glue you use for paper mache but a bit stronger and it comes in a bottle.
It's also called Decoupage glue as well-I think. I think you can also just water down PVA if you can't find any.

1. set up an account on photobucket www.photobucket.com
2. upload your pictures on to photobucket (it'll explain how, on the site)
3. once your pics are uploaded you'll see a bunch of codes underneath them. Copy the HTML code(you'll see what I mean) and paste it on your board post and voila!

I was vegetarian for about 6 months last year, it was really easy at first but then i really missed certain foods, it was also coz i didn't have a lot of time to make yummy veg things so i was living off omelettes and veg pizzas(okay well I had some other things too!)
I still eat some vegetarian things I want to eat more though. My aim is to mostly eat vegetarian with the occasional meat and maybe in the uture I'll contemplate being veggie again.

Even these people who do seem to have a perfect life always have something bad happen to them so no-one can get everything they want, you just have to be satisfied with what you have. I'm not particularly happy at the moment but that's only coz of highschool. Once I finish it I will be free! I cannot wait!

One thing I do when I'm feeling upset is to think of the fact that some people are doing it 1000 times tougher than me and there is always someone who is worse off (I know that sounds horrible but it makes you feel better) but then you just think that you are lucky in a way.

But then I once thought to myself what about the people who are at the lowest of the low like the people who are starving to death or being raped. No-one could be worse off than them but then the people who are starving could say "thankgod I am not being raped" and vica versa.
There is always something to be thankful for.

I've got braces and they suck! Mine are really sore at the moment coz i got them tightened today. At first I didn't mind that I was going to get them but then when I looked in the mirror after I had got them put in, I burst into tears! I couldn't stop crying for several days, they just look so damn ugly! No, worse, hideous!

My braces don't look like everyone elses- they don't have silver wire with the little coloured squares- I have ugly brown wire and the rest I can't really descibe but it's, well ugly!!!
I haven't seen anyone else with braces like mine.
I can't wait till I get them off. I'm counting down the months- 14 left. I've had them for 4 months.

I'd say they look worse than what my teeth looked like before and to top it all off, the colours are really ugly and my othrodontist is horrible and everything he does to my teeth hurts!

I guess I'll just have them without the chocolate!

Cat you didn't mention how many it served. I made it anyway and I got 3 meals out of it by putting in 3/4 cup dry rice. I've found that the amount of rice that would be enough for one person equals the amount the meal would serve for.
eg- if 1/2 a cup of dry rice would be enough for 2 people in your family then the meal serves too. But if you want the meal to serve like 5 people then you might need to add extra of the other ingredients.

It's very rare that that actually happens and that's only if the animal eats a lot of it and I mean a lot. Like say if you were giving your rabbit a big wad of newspaper everyday. It's like with dogs and grapes, a couple aren't going to do anything but if the dog swallows a whole box then they can make then get liver disease- this is very common for dogs on vineyards. Anyway, enough of my ramblings-in other words- it's perfectly fine every once in a while. And just to let you know my local animal shelter(RSPCA)give newspaper to their rabbits on the odd ocassion.

On a sunday morning my comfort food is a slice of fresh sourdough bread (the really good stuff you get from the bakery) with a thin bit of butter topped with vegimite and swiss cheese and melted under the grill. Pure heaven!
and to make it even better I like some freshly squeezed orange juice and mixed berry cous cous( it has cous cous, apple and cranberry juice, cinammon stick, orange zest, fresh raspberries and blueberries, strawberries, mint leaves-to garnish, greek yoghurt and golden syrup)

They weren't sugar coated, they just looked like that coz all the varnish was peeling off. We used a craft varnish called gloss varnish, should we try a hardware store type?

The wood doesn't set fire as my friend and I tried it today.We made green ones. We didn't actually use fimo as in Australia they don't have it. They have Sculpey which is exactly the same stuff. When looking for the stuff just look for a clay that you can bake.

I am so going to make one of these. I saw the other fortune cookies(edible ones) and liked them but once they were eaten they were gone so this is perfect. My friends and i are having a craft sleepover and thi will definately be there!
