I am a part of a two-person apartment-based workshop located in San Francisco called Smoke Signal Studio. Everything that we make is created by our four hands from materials found at thrift stores, dump sites, and from wandering around the streets of the Bay Area. Our design aesthetic is built upon our sculptural background, which incorporates repurposed, found objects and also emphasizes our technical skill. A discarded drum head becomes a perfect light fixture. A piece of driftwood is crafted into a light switch cover. Old 1950s magazines are transformed into origami light shades.
