No problem. Olive oil is an amazing thing. There are a few more but at the moment I can't remember them.

Love the cocoa powder and olive oil. Works wonders. And using baking soda as an exfoliating scrub with the olive oil makes your skin so soft it is amazing!!

great list. here is something to add, grind up some oatmeal to a powder, take two or three tablespoons add equal amount of olive oil. use as a scrub for your face. make more for a body scrub.

or add a table spoon or two of cocoa powder with the same amount of olive oil, use it as a scrub, but before you rinse, just let it sit on your face.

you can do the same with baking soda.

and the list goes on and on.

Pepperette - I use it to cover the cakes, but I make my fondant from scratch. I won't use the pre package stuff, although satin ice does taste ok, it is too expensive.

I add flavoring depending on the cake it is covering. The Lightening McQueen was raspberry.

I don't like fondant, but everyone who has tasted the fondant I make like it. They say to them it tastes just like frosting, or candy.

Sweet - Fondant is a pliable type of icing you can roll out and cover a cake, or use it to mold different items. But to use it like clay it can't be too soft.

Covering a cake, you get a perfectly smooth (as long as you take care covering it) canvas to work on.

well one thing i can say for sure, in any of the cakes i have made you can eat 99% of it.

the 1% is the dowel rods and separators. no wood or anything else.

i use regular acrylic paint. once my ornaments are cleaned out, i use a little bleach on the inside and then rinse thoroughly.

i had a brainstorm and used automatic dish washer detergent, since it doesn't leave drip marks. well, whatever helpst the waterspots stay gone, doesn't let the paint adhere.

the key is to make sure the interior is clean, rinsed, and totally dry.

i had a few that the paint peeled from, but i was a bit over zealous with the paint, and it didn't dry.

after they sit upside down for at least three or four days, i put them in a carton and leave the top off for week or two. longer doesn't hut. it allows the paint to dry.

the key is leaving that little top off for more air flow.

reminds me of a small version of Stonehenge. i'd love to visit a folly or Stonehenge someday.

thank you!! but you can do those cakes. they are all really easy. some may take a bit of time, but easy. the simplest one is the grooms cake.

bake a cake, frost it, put the rolled cookies around it, dip strawberries, and it is done!!

maybe i should do a how to for making formal strawberries.

THAT IS JUST FREAKING AWESOME!!! back in cleveland there was a tv station for some strange reason would run a star trek marathon on christmas eve or a week before christmas, people would send in votes for their favorite episodes.

if it was on christmas eve, we'd be getting things ready for christmas, preping for the meal and fine tuning the cleanning while watching/listening to it.

if it was the week before christmas i'd bake and make candy watching it on a small tv in the kitchen.

on year they played it on christmas, and we had a house full of people, and of course, being the trekker i am, it was on. we played name that episode. you had to name it during the tease. of course i won. :D

i just used torn pieces of hand made paper on the first picture, followed the same basic idea as in the tutorial.

you probably could do this on a plastic shade. but you would need to do a bit of prep work first, like sand the area where the paint will be with an extra fine sandpaper or 00000 steel wool.

the reason being is that the acrylic paint will peel off the plastic. it will peel off glass too, but since the pain is on the inside of these, you won't run into the problemm of it chipping and then peeling.

i found that adding just a bit of raspberry flavoring to the fondant makes it yummy. the second one i did for a friend's son had it in the fondant, she said he was in love with the fondant, kept trying to get it off off everyone who had cake.

and the adults who didn't like fondant liked the marshmallow fondant.

:D it is suppose to look used and abused, just like they do when played with. glad it looks the way it is suppose to!! :D

what does poof have to do with a ferret. hmm, well ferrets have anal glands, like a dog does, and a skunk, when frightened or mad they express them, fortunately they are like a really nasty fart and go away. most ferrets in the US are descented.

thanks for all the complements! i leave them upside down on a drying rack i made from an old wire shelf, under the rack i have sheets of wax paper, or a garbage bag so i can collect the drips, which are really pretty, i'm going to figure something to do with them, for now they are filling up a jar.

So far my favorite one this year is a black, white and red one, the red almost looks like a bleeding heart.

yeah, not real Christmas type of thing, but i've never been "normal" one of the trees i put up at Christmas is black. XD

yes, and adding your favorite flavor helps too. you just have to remember not to add a flavor that will clash with your cake.

this was left over fondant from lightning mcqueen, it smelled just like raspberries.

and the mom told me that her son who doesn't eat frosting was going to everyone and pulling the fondant off their piece and eating it.
