This sound interesting; I have never heard of using these ingredients in a broccoli salad but it sounds good. Will have to try it some time. Thanks for sharing this with us:)
I didn't know there were even 7 ways - I made a lot o paper beads but never have never heard of thought of 4, 5,and 6. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much for sharing this! My Mom used to make this all the time but did not leave any recipe behind (she passed away 10 years ago) and I wanted to share this treat with my son and will be making this soon.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the bugs - that might sour me on birdseed too - hope you got your money back.
Didn't have a problem with the birds trying to eat it when the kids were playing but birds around here are fairly skittish.
Maybe in larger cities like New York City where people feed birds all of the time and they have no fear or humans wouldn't be a good idea - wouldn't want to recreate a scene from Hitchcock's "The Birds".
My son still preferred the messy sandbox for his cars, but this wasn't as messy and it was fun because it was something different than what he was used to.
Games are always a great way to introduce children to another culture, but yours is super special because you used your creativity to make it and I a sure it will encourage and inspire the kids you teach.
Very original and looks great - I thought it was leather when I first clicked on the picture and would not have guessed that it was made from fused plastic bags.
They both are lovely, but I like the one with the crystal heart the best. I also like the copper wire instead of the silver - gives the necklace a very different look.
Would be cute for all sorts of craft applications and you could also use wood stain if you wanted to give them a different look.
If it they are were going to be used on a garment that will be washed in a washing machine very often, you would probably want to use a waterproof sealer (available at any hardware store), glaze or resin, as the water will cause them to swell and weaken and cause them to break over time.
I saw Joy Kampia's previously and loved it, but I like yours better - it looks much more comfortable and cosy. I hope you won the contest as it looks great!
I like how you have displayed this. This really does make a wonderful keepsake for Grandparents and parents like and great way to get even very young kids involved in crafting by using the finger paint to make handprints.
I still have one like this from when my son was little and it does make a wonderful keepsake. Also kids like to show off how much they have grown when they visit by comparing the size of their hands when they were little to how big their hands get as they have grown.
To Toxic Tea Party - Edward Scissorhands is a character from Tim Burton's 1990 movie of the same name that was portrayed by Johnny Depp where he was created by inventor that died before finishing him which left him scissors for hands. Sort of like an adorable humanistic goth pinocchio. If you have never seen it is worth taking a look at. My son is in his teens and saw it a few years ago an loved it even though to him it is an "old" movie because it came out before he was born.
Good explanation of what eggnog is by TK Rainy above. I have never heard of advaakart and couldn't find it in when I googled it so I don't know if is similar.
I live in the US and eggnog is readily available in the dairy case, but it doesn't sound like it is in other parts of the world. Cat Morely posted a recipe on here for eggnog if you want to try it: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/eggnog
If you have never had it is sort of sweet and creamy like a milkshake, but not as cold and not as thick and is more syrupy and has the flavor of a rich custard with nutmeg. I use the version without alcohol, but if you use alcohol it adds a bit a warm, slightly fruity kick to the mix.
It is awesome! This is better than any gift you could buy as it is personal to her and you took the time, thought and effort to do it yourself and the results are very professional looking.
I have always been to intimidated to make an actual quilt but your tutorial makes it sound very doable and the quilt looks fabulous - going to give this a try.
Very cute and much more special and durable than what you could have bought commercially. Don't be surprised though if he uses it to tote toys around in - that is what my son did with his when he was younger.
It looks awesome! A how-to would be wonderful. Christmas is coming and many teens on people's Christmas list are Twilight lovers and this would make a fabulous gift.
It turned out awesome and I love how you used different flavors of cakes and cupcakes and different filling and also carried the theme over to the cookes - a little something for everyone!
I love the bedroom! When I first saw the picture I thought it was of an actual bedroom. The stencil work on the wall is amazing.
The living room looks like it could use a loveseat or couch for when Blythe's friends or boyfriend come over - there is a tutorial here by another user on Cut Out and Keep
http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/lovely_couch_for_barbie
I have made some stuff for my fairy garden and for Barbie that might work well for you garden for you Blythe doll, such as a frog pond, campfire and barrel that I have posted how-tos here that you might be interested in.
They are adorable! This would a fun treat to make for a pre-school or grade school treat for the class, or even make up the cupcakes ahead of time and let the kids decorate after having a lesson on owls.
Very original and a great idea! New Dad's usually are left out in the whole "new baby" celebration experience and this is a great way to get them involved.
I haven't done much with polymer clays yet and don't have pasta machine, but this looks cool and I may try it sometime.
I really liked the tips, like keeping it separate from food utentils and stacking the two deep baking dishes on top of each other to limit the fume exposure in the oven.
Thanks for sharing the tutorial with us - it is not something I would make for myself, but if ever get the opporutnity to make one for someone else, I will keep this in mind.
Thanks for sharing the tutorial with us - it is not something I would make for myself, but if ever get the opporutnity to make one for someone else, I will keep this in mind.
Very lovely. It is cool that your Dad is not only supportive of you Mom's crafting, but is also a crafty person in his own right and makes her looms to craft on.
Very pretty. Would me much more comfortable with having the yarn on them also - I never liked to wear them because the rubber/plastic always irriated my skin - this would eliminate that. Thanks for sharing it with us!
It should, as the Amazing Goop "glues whatever bonds forever". I did a test run through the with just the stones with interfacing in a pillowcase 3 times and they held fast.
I would recommend, as with any top that has studs or any 3-D embellishments, wash inside a lingere bag or zippered pillowcase to avoid them them from catching on other items and falling off or possibly damaging other items.
Another possibility would be to put them on removable yolk that you would attach with Velcro instead of putting them on the T-shirt.
Very pretty. I made a long sleeve version too but used and old polo - I definitely like the way your t-shirt version drapes and will be on the lookout a garage and thift stores to try this. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Boy, this brought back memories! I remember making these when I was in grade school. This is a great craft for kids to make (with supervision) not only because it result in a fun and cool looking toy/decoration, but it builds confidence as it does not take a lot of skill to get great results. I remember thinking, gee, if I can make something this cool, what else can I make?
If you carry a lot of stuff in your backpack or bookbag it seems like the spiral spine get bent up and then the paper doesn't tear evenly - doing this project would eliminate that and give you twice as much paper to work with - you could even put a slightly larger piece of paper or cardboard between the two notebooks if you wanted to use it for two different subjects.
Instead of cutting the wire out you could just unwind it from the pages.
Sounds interesting and imagine that the beans would absord the chocolate and coffee flavor to produce a healthier than typical type brownie - is one I want to try!
This would be great to wear for a special summer outing and thank you for putting it into a tutorial here - I have dial up only and it cannot handle Youtube or any other types of videos and would never even thought to make something like this on my nails.
Wow! This is really cool and a great upcycle of an old vinyl album.
I would never have thought use it as "canvas" for a painting and I love the colors on this and how the black vinyl background adds to the texture and shading of the painting.
I remember using such a loom as a kid and it was fun an easy. It is awesome that this was made from an old tin can. This is going on my projects to do list.
This is a good basic list and person could build on this depending on what type of crafts they are into
In mine like to keep googly eyes, a seam gauge, a seam ripper and/or small scissors, snaps, velcro, buttons, zippers, black, white, red and glow-in-the-dark fabric paint, crochet hooks and at least a small ball of crochet thread in black and a small ball or two of yarn in black and white.
I remember reading about this recently about someone who posted they had received a toy via the toy society drop. Very cool concept; however, if you don't receive confirmation about where it ended up it does not mean the toy did not end up in hands of a child that will love it; it could be they are too young to use a computer or there family doesn't have access to one.
I am sure there are other out there, like me, that only have dial up and watching videos on Youtube is not a viable option and you make it look doable. Thanks for sharing this tutorial with us!
What a wonderful Spring decoration! This would also make a great Mother's Day present for kids to make for Mom or Grandma with professional looking results.
Thanks for all of the tips, hints and tricks that you learned along the way - seeing other crafters brave new territory inspires me try to branch out into unfamiliar territory.
These are great to make cards with and it looks classy, yet fresh.
As some flowers can stain pages, you may want to lie the flower between a layer of wax paper on each side (it also make it easier to remove as some flowers can become very brittle or stick to the page of the book).
This sounds like it would be great to make up batches for Christmas to give as an unique, personalized present. Who couldn'd do with a mini at-home spa treatment for a little you time in the tub after a long day.
I painted the disc of the "Starship Enterprise" project with the brush and it was a smooth surface the texture of the sock didn't really have much of an impact.
When I paint other items with the brush, I will note it here.
Great job on the t-shirt; I love the shading on the "shades" - looks very realistic.
Also a cool concept to start a trend and would be a great ice breaker/conversation piece at parties and clubs to a walk in wearing the shirt and the shade, especially if a whole group was wearing it (even though it would be hard to see in a dark club).
It is very pretty. I have not worked much with clay before but interested in learning - not sure what you mean by blending - do you roll it out vertically or horizontally?
It is super easy and it is one of the few craft projects that I have done that my teen son thinks is cool.
After Easter they will not only serve a decorative purpose, but likely hold memory cards, an MP3 player, batteries and other assorted small items so they will be easy to find.
I love how it looks and the tutorial is easy to follow. By having your 7 year old daughter do it also makes it seem much less intimidating to try (but she does have an artistic eye - she did a great job on this scarf).
LOL. These are hilarious! They would make a great conversation piece to wear to parties would be a fun gift to give and make to your fav. dental hygentist or dentist.
I looks awesome and I love the idea of presenting it with the chocolate covered strawberries and putting a chocolate covered strawberry on top of the mini-cheese cakes.
The mini-cakes would be great for a potluck, carry in or even as an appetizer for a dinner party.
Very original as most jean bags are cut off at or above the crotch area and have straps sewn on, but by leaving a bit of the leg on and using a cord for the straps they still look like shorts - cute!
My son loved crafts like this when he was younger and this and it helped him to build tacticle skills and confidence in preparing him to go to school with small successes with simple projects.
is cute and it is simple enough that even younger children can make or help make with supervison and proudly show of their creations to visitors.
Great upcycle of turning what might otherwise be trash into a treasure; makes a unique decoration and great conversation piece. Would also be a cool gift to give a fellow music lover.
It brings back summer memories of my childhood where we would go out at night and catch fire flies in a mason jar and whoever got the most got a treat (a soda or a piece of candy).
If you have a keyring that is approaching what a jailer's would look like (like mine) color coding them, or even texture covering them with different fabrics if you have to look for them in the dark is a great idea. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I would have never guessed it held tools as it is fashionable enough just to be a snazzy purse and the yellow color makes me think of a bright, sunny day - very cool and creative!
It is cool that you now have a fashionable bag to carry your laptop in that you were able to craft for free out of an old pair of pants and a strap off another bag.
This would be much better than what you could buy in the store because you could coordinate it with your outfits. They had similar bangles at Old Navy a Christmas for $7.50 ea. that were not as nice with limited color options.
This would be a perfect cake to make for a kid's birthday as most are nuts over dinosaurs.
I like yours much better with the smooth body and the spots than the one at Instructables covered with the star tipped icing; he looks friendlier and more approachable (edible).
This would be great to make and keep in your purse for small projects. I sometimes take project to work to do on my lunch hour and this would be a great way to keep them organized.
Great way to upcycle an old box and get your sewing item organized in a stylish way. I love how you have made all the different compartments to keep it tidy.
I have made many necklaces out of paper beads, but never thought to make earrings and yours look great!
You can also use magazine pages to make beads as many of them have a heavier weight also, but if not you can use another sheet of paper and use a glue stick to attach it to the back of the page, then roll it.
You find pages that match colors in an outfit and make a custom piece to match the outfit and save the paper from going to a landfill all at the same time. What could be better?
I had never heard of paper piecing before, but as the things that you have made have turned out so amazing I am going to put this on my list of new things to try in 2009.
Great way to upcycle something that would normally be discarded into something cute and clever.
This would be good to make bows for kid's hair. It would also be great to attach to shoes and decorate the shoes with the same candy theme or even decopogue the rest of the shoes with the same type of wrapper.
Great idea! If I didn't rent I would put this in my kitchen. It seems like it is always a pain to get the pans out or find the right pan when I need without having to get everything out; with this, it is right at your fingertips.
This is the first time I have seen a woven duct tape purse -it is very different and I like the choice of colors and how the red weaves in with the purple and great thinking in using a manila folder material to stablize the bag.
Awesome quilt! Lots of time, patience and love went into making something as detailed as this for it to turn out so lovely and professional looking. You Mimi deserves lots of hugs and praises.
This looks like it would be great to wear if you have arthritis or pins in your joints if you have ever broken your ankle to give the extra added warmth that helps aleviate pain and much more fashionable an elastic brace or bulky ankle wrap.
It is inspiring that you have only been crocheting 2 months and turned out such a lovely and useful item.
My Mom was heavily into crochet, but I never quite got the hang of it. Since she has since passed on, I have been trying to learn to honor her memory and I am favoriting this as a possible starter project.
Thanks for sharing the link with the pattern and your experience and tweaks to it.
While a rolls that are common are great for travel and portablily, at home having them in plain site is much better as they are not only easier to find, they sort of beg for you to use them and spur inspirations and with the cake theme, they also make a clever decoration and conversation piece.
This would be a great idea to use up scraps of fabric from other projects to turn into something functional and well as pretty. Also would be great from traveling and if you have a lot of needles, make them easier to find.
Great idea! I don't have the tools to do it (maybe will put them on my wish list for next Christmas though!), otherwise I would definitely give this a try.
This would be a great gift idea for tweens and teen girls to give to their friends.
It would also good present for a plumber as they use small mirrors to check the other side of joints in tight places that they cannot get to and you could make it look manly - my ex used to use my old pink Mary Kay compact and got teased horribly for it, but it would fit in his pocket and he could carry it around without it getting easily broken and got the job done.
It gives them something useful, but personalized and one-of-a-kind.
It also gives new life to something that might otherwise end up in the trash if you use a used compact for this project.
I am sure your Grandma will be very "hoppy" with it and want to "leap" for joy over your thoughtfulness to make her a present instead of just going out and buying something.
I have made cresent rolls with with a layer of cinnamon sugar and butter and to make cinnomon rolls and they are good. Jelly might be good and maybe frosting, but not sure how pudding would work out after being baked and cooled again.
Thanks for sharing this - I haven't made biscuits from scratch in forever, but will give your recipe a go after the next time I buy shortening (I usually use butter in everything instead).
I usually do it the other way around - buy Pillbury Grand flaky biscuits and then make the gravy from scratch and I am glad to see I am not the only person that likes to add cheese to their gravy - it is so much better that way.
This is a great project for grade school kids (or older) to make something to welcome a new sibling to the family.
All they need to be able to do is to the the fabric around the edges (to make it uniform, the parent could baste around the edges to the line where the child needs to stop cutting)and tie both pieces of fleece together at the edges on all size.
These also make great lap blankets when you are on the couch watching TV or reading a book, or even an extra layer on top of your blankets in bed as they keep you very warm and toasty.
Great way to recycle and old lightbulb and a stray sock into an unique Christmas ornament!
It does look easy enough for grade schoolers to do too. Another added bonus is that this is a safer option that just a decorated glass bulb because if there is an accident and bulb is broken, it is contained within the sock.
Great idea! Cards usually end up getting tossed, but an ornament can go on the tree every year and when you put it on the tree, you think about the people that send it to you.
The green one on the end is amazing...it looks like a real piece of candy.
Nice concept happy to hear that the strings were replaced with elastic to avoid a choking hazard making it baby safe. It looks like it would keep a bab toasty and cozy in cold weathre.
One thing you might want to add is a hole where the child safety seat restraints go so it will be car friendly.
Now this is my kind of bouquet! Even if you pick out the other person's favorite flowers, it could be people around them have allergies - no worries about that with a candy bouquet!
Whoever made this had a very active imagination and eye for creativity...I would never have thought to make a skeleton out of old tape cases and I would not have guessed that is what this was made out of if it was not indicated. Pretty cool!
I had never heard of doing this before and will have to give it a try some time.
This sounds like it would work very well for things that are washed infrequently like small throw pillows, wall hangings, purses or wallets, or not at all, like to decorate fabric to use on making scrapbooks or journals.
Great idea for a simple and inexpensive, yet thoughtful gift. I am going to show this to my son and suggest that he do this for his friends for Christmas with some Dale Earnhart fabric that was originally going to be a pair of sleep pants as all his friends are into Nascar.
These turned out really cute. I have a whole sack of what we refer to as "the land of unmatched socks" and may try to make a sock creature in the near future.
Only one word of warning on making any sort of toys over any children under 3...not a good idea to use buttons, no matter how well you think you have sewn them on, pom poms, googly eyes or anything else a child can get off a baby/toddler could choke on.
Great way to recycle a old sweater into a cool holiday decoration or even a toy for little one's to play with and attaching the legs with velcro is genius.
I would have gone nuts over this when I was little kid as I loved playing supermarket and house and could have bought the stuffed turkey at the "store" and then taken it home and baked it in my "oven" (an old box decorated to be a stove) and then could pretend I was serving it by taking the legs off the turkey and serving it on a plate.
What a cute little doll you have and she looks great in the costume. I like the scales design and how it flows down her back but short in the front so she doesn't trip over it. I tis not only cute and creative but very toddler friendly.
I don't know if I have the patience to piece all the pieces together, but I love this pattern and have favorited for my future "to try" list. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
The cake is awesome and would not all the more memorable because you made it especially for her.
Anyone can go out and buy a birthday cake if they have the money...not everyone has the imagination, creativity and willing to put for the effort to make it themselves and just shows her that much more how much you love her.
I love the abstractness of this bag - totally original.
You wouldn't need to rip it apart to add a lining - just use the existing bag to make your pattern, then add 1/2 inch or so to each side for the seam allowance and sew the lining together, then turn the existing bag inside out and stitch it to the lining at the top.
Cute idea. I don't think it would be creepy is you used face pictures of different friends, family and people in your life and things you like.
Would only be creepy if you just used pictures of one person - sort of obessive and stalkerish or just pics of yourself - sort of conceited, but even then, could make a great art project as people wonder about the deeper meaning of it.
My son saw this and said we just had to make it, so I went to the store yesterday and bought the stuff and he just got done mixing it and we will be having this with our dinner tonight.

KMOM14 over 3 years ago
This looks fabulous!

KMOM14 about 4 years ago
Very pretty. I made a long sleeve version too but used and old polo - I definitely like the way your t-shirt version drapes and will be on the lookout a garage and thift stores to try this. Thanks for sharing it with us!

KMOM14 about 4 years ago
Boy, this brought back memories! I remember making these when I was in grade school. This is a great craft for kids to make (with supervision) not only because it result in a fun and cool looking toy/decoration, but it builds confidence as it does not take a lot of skill to get great results. I remember thinking, gee, if I can make something this cool, what else can I make?

KMOM14 about 4 years ago
Great idea!
KMOM14 about 4 years ago

KMOM14 about 4 years ago
Very pretty and unique.
KMOM14 about 4 years ago
Sad,but true, there are many people all over the globe styling their protective breathing masks...it is a sign of the times.
Heck, if you need to wear them, might as well try to decorate them (but still make them functional).

These are great to make cards with and it looks classy, yet fresh.
As some flowers can stain pages, you may want to lie the flower between a layer of wax paper on each side (it also make it easier to remove as some flowers can become very brittle or stick to the page of the book).

It is super easy and it is one of the few craft projects that I have done that my teen son thinks is cool.
After Easter they will not only serve a decorative purpose, but likely hold memory cards, an MP3 player, batteries and other assorted small items so they will be easy to find.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I love how it looks too and how you use it as a candle holder surrounded by rocks.

I have seen cassette wallets, but I like this concept more as you use a zipper and an 8 track is bigger and would hold.
If I find that Styx 8 track when I clean out the garage this summer, I am going to attempt this.

Sounds and looks yummy.

I haven't made regular popcorn in years, but this sounds yummy.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Thanks, Mrs. T and thank you for sharing your wonderful how-to that made it all possible.
It is special to me as we used to have a Scotty dog, Dutchess, and she was a wonderful dog. Wearing the scarf keeps her memory alive.

Great upcycle! I love how the re-fashioned ones look.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I would have never guessed it held tools as it is fashionable enough just to be a snazzy purse and the yellow color makes me think of a bright, sunny day - very cool and creative!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
LOL. Too funny (and very creative and cute too)! This would be one way to keep the guy(s) in your life from ever snooping through your purse again.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is cool that you now have a fashionable bag to carry your laptop in that you were able to craft for free out of an old pair of pants and a strap off another bag.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
With Valentine's Day around the corner this would make a nice, inexpensive gift to make.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This would be much better than what you could buy in the store because you could coordinate it with your outfits. They had similar bangles at Old Navy a Christmas for $7.50 ea. that were not as nice with limited color options.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is cool that you crafted something for your fish and it looks great and I am sure he will enjoy it.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to upcycle something that would have ended up in the trash into something useful and pretty.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
They are both cool, but I like the skulls one the best.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is not only pretty and stylish, but I imagine it is very durable too, being made out of duct tape.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I think it looks cuter with having one of the Olly's wonky - it shows he is a non-conformist and gives him personality.

KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I like the colors that used to make him.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I love Pacman and these are awesome!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This would be a perfect cake to make for a kid's birthday as most are nuts over dinosaurs.
I like yours much better with the smooth body and the spots than the one at Instructables covered with the star tipped icing; he looks friendlier and more approachable (edible).
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
These are awesome! My son used to love Pikachu.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago

KMOM14 over 4 years ago
They turned out cute and thanks for the tips as I have this item on my "to craft" list.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This would be great to make and keep in your purse for small projects. I sometimes take project to work to do on my lunch hour and this would be a great way to keep them organized.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to upcycle an old box and get your sewing item organized in a stylish way. I love how you have made all the different compartments to keep it tidy.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I have made many necklaces out of paper beads, but never thought to make earrings and yours look great!
You can also use magazine pages to make beads as many of them have a heavier weight also, but if not you can use another sheet of paper and use a glue stick to attach it to the back of the page, then roll it.
You find pages that match colors in an outfit and make a custom piece to match the outfit and save the paper from going to a landfill all at the same time. What could be better?
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Never seen a crocheted cauldren before - very original. These would be cute to hang on mini "Halloween" tree or for playing witch with a Barbie.

KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I had never heard of paper piecing before, but as the things that you have made have turned out so amazing I am going to put this on my list of new things to try in 2009.
Thanks for the tutorial!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I like this version the best because of all of the colors and it is also a great way to recycle an old magazine.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to upcycle something that would normally be discarded into something cute and clever.
This would be good to make bows for kid's hair. It would also be great to attach to shoes and decorate the shoes with the same candy theme or even decopogue the rest of the shoes with the same type of wrapper.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
These would be great for a "Think Spring" encouragement on snow days.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago

KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to upcycle and turn old school LPs into modern glam bracelets.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I really like all the glitz and while might not wear it for every day, would be great for a night out or even just dressing up to go out to eat.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is very unique and your tutorial if very professional looking.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! If I didn't rent I would put this in my kitchen. It seems like it is always a pain to get the pans out or find the right pan when I need without having to get everything out; with this, it is right at your fingertips.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This is the first time I have seen a woven duct tape purse -it is very different and I like the choice of colors and how the red weaves in with the purple and great thinking in using a manila folder material to stablize the bag.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Awesome quilt! Lots of time, patience and love went into making something as detailed as this for it to turn out so lovely and professional looking. You Mimi deserves lots of hugs and praises.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This looks like it would be great to wear if you have arthritis or pins in your joints if you have ever broken your ankle to give the extra added warmth that helps aleviate pain and much more fashionable an elastic brace or bulky ankle wrap.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is inspiring that you have only been crocheting 2 months and turned out such a lovely and useful item.
My Mom was heavily into crochet, but I never quite got the hang of it. Since she has since passed on, I have been trying to learn to honor her memory and I am favoriting this as a possible starter project.
Thanks for sharing the link with the pattern and your experience and tweaks to it.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It looks very elegant and well made at first I thought it was a jewelry roll. It is very pretty and will be great for toting around crochet hooks.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Very creative upcycle of an old whoppie cushion!
While a rolls that are common are great for travel and portablily, at home having them in plain site is much better as they are not only easier to find, they sort of beg for you to use them and spur inspirations and with the cake theme, they also make a clever decoration and conversation piece.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Very clever idea...a crocheted crochet hook holder.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This would be a great idea to use up scraps of fabric from other projects to turn into something functional and well as pretty. Also would be great from traveling and if you have a lot of needles, make them easier to find.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It really does class up a pony tail.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Cute. He could also be adapted to make Southpark's "Kenny".
KMOM14 over 4 years ago

This is a great idea. About how much fabric and fleece does it take?
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! This is going to go on my "to try" to make list.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! I don't have the tools to do it (maybe will put them on my wish list for next Christmas though!), otherwise I would definitely give this a try.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
These are cute! I like the one in orange the best.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
The plastic bag idea is great for oversize and odd shaped gifts and I like the way the bag fluffs out over the top of the ribbon.
The rosettes made from wrapping paper looks like they would hold up better it shipping that traditional bows that get totally squashed.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great personalization of your jacket. Very cute!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Awesome idea and they look very fashionable.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Awesome idea and they look very fashionable.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Cute idea! Looks like a bouquet of flowers.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Thanks for the tutorial.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I am sure your Grandma will be very "hoppy" with it and want to "leap" for joy over your thoughtfulness to make her a present instead of just going out and buying something.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
LOL. This is cool!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Sounds yummy.
I have made cresent rolls with with a layer of cinnamon sugar and butter and to make cinnomon rolls and they are good. Jelly might be good and maybe frosting, but not sure how pudding would work out after being baked and cooled again.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Thanks for sharing this - I haven't made biscuits from scratch in forever, but will give your recipe a go after the next time I buy shortening (I usually use butter in everything instead).
I usually do it the other way around - buy Pillbury Grand flaky biscuits and then make the gravy from scratch and I am glad to see I am not the only person that likes to add cheese to their gravy - it is so much better that way.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
The cat in oven is a riot. We used to have a cat, much to our dismay, that loved to sleep on the top of the stove.
These sound delicious! I am definitely going to try this sometime.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is very unique and I love the pink straws with the glitter on the end and with being pink, great for breast cancer awareness!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great use of a small space to study or just get away from everyone else. It is very well organize and inviting despite the limited space.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I love the paper bows and the cut out bow is very clever.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Cute and would make a great, inexpensive gift to give to co-workers and family members to get coffee on the go.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
This is a great project for grade school kids (or older) to make something to welcome a new sibling to the family.
All they need to be able to do is to the the fabric around the edges (to make it uniform, the parent could baste around the edges to the line where the child needs to stop cutting)and tie both pieces of fleece together at the edges on all size.
These also make great lap blankets when you are on the couch watching TV or reading a book, or even an extra layer on top of your blankets in bed as they keep you very warm and toasty.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! You could also use larger lids, like those off of Gatorade, if you wanted to make a larger design.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to recycle and old lightbulb and a stray sock into an unique Christmas ornament!
It does look easy enough for grade schoolers to do too. Another added bonus is that this is a safer option that just a decorated glass bulb because if there is an accident and bulb is broken, it is contained within the sock.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! Cards usually end up getting tossed, but an ornament can go on the tree every year and when you put it on the tree, you think about the people that send it to you.
The green one on the end is amazing...it looks like a real piece of candy.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Love the fabric!
Nice concept happy to hear that the strings were replaced with elastic to avoid a choking hazard making it baby safe. It looks like it would keep a bab toasty and cozy in cold weathre.
One thing you might want to add is a hole where the child safety seat restraints go so it will be car friendly.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Nice bag and with the thermal lining should make i super sturdy.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is very pretty. If I had any bulbs that size I would try this.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
What a great gift for your niece.
I like the 3 panel on th bottom and how you used two different types of prints on the top and the pockets.
Thanks for the tutorial - it is easy to understand.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is wonderful that you have made such a nifty looking hat for your roomies son to play dress up in and encourage imaginative play.
The hat looks very well made and I am sure he will get a lot of use out of.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It is very cute and you have done a great job on the tutorial.

Now this is my kind of bouquet! Even if you pick out the other person's favorite flowers, it could be people around them have allergies - no worries about that with a candy bouquet!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Cute!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Whoever made this had a very active imagination and eye for creativity...I would never have thought to make a skeleton out of old tape cases and I would not have guessed that is what this was made out of if it was not indicated. Pretty cool!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Awh! It is yesterday. We used to have Scottie dog and think I am going to try to make it as an ornament in for the Christmas tree in her memory.
Thanks for sharing this with us!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
What a wonderful Christmas craft! It is very pretty.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I had never heard of doing this before and will have to give it a try some time.
This sounds like it would work very well for things that are washed infrequently like small throw pillows, wall hangings, purses or wallets, or not at all, like to decorate fabric to use on making scrapbooks or journals.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
It looks like a professionally made cake and that you put thought, effort and heart into it I am sure made it all the more special to your hubby.

KMOM14 over 4 years ago

KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea for a simple and inexpensive, yet thoughtful gift. I am going to show this to my son and suggest that he do this for his friends for Christmas with some Dale Earnhart fabric that was originally going to be a pair of sleep pants as all his friends are into Nascar.
Thanks for sharing your idea!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
These turned out really cute. I have a whole sack of what we refer to as "the land of unmatched socks" and may try to make a sock creature in the near future.
Only one word of warning on making any sort of toys over any children under 3...not a good idea to use buttons, no matter how well you think you have sewn them on, pom poms, googly eyes or anything else a child can get off a baby/toddler could choke on.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great idea! This will be perfect for wrapping small gifts, easy enough for kids to do and great way to recycle!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Cute idea! Think we will try this next year for Halloween.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Wonderful idea! My son is learning to cook and this would be a fun project for him. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Great way to recycle a old sweater into a cool holiday decoration or even a toy for little one's to play with and attaching the legs with velcro is genius.
I would have gone nuts over this when I was little kid as I loved playing supermarket and house and could have bought the stuffed turkey at the "store" and then taken it home and baked it in my "oven" (an old box decorated to be a stove) and then could pretend I was serving it by taking the legs off the turkey and serving it on a plate.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
What a cute little doll you have and she looks great in the costume. I like the scales design and how it flows down her back but short in the front so she doesn't trip over it. I tis not only cute and creative but very toddler friendly.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Thanks for the tutorial! It is a great way to recycle what would normally be landfill fodder into something beautiful.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
Wow. I would never have guessed that it was made out of old ties. What a great way to refashion ugly old ties into something amazing.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I don't know if I have the patience to piece all the pieces together, but I love this pattern and have favorited for my future "to try" list. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
The cake is awesome and would not all the more memorable because you made it especially for her.
Anyone can go out and buy a birthday cake if they have the money...not everyone has the imagination, creativity and willing to put for the effort to make it themselves and just shows her that much more how much you love her.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
We love cappuccino and can't wait to try to make a batch of these!
Thanks for sharing the recipe with us and the easy to understand tutorial.

They look delicious!
I like the fact that you use honey to sweeten the frosting and will keep this recipe in mind the next time I make carrot cake.
Thanks for sharing it with us!
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
I love the abstractness of this bag - totally original.
You wouldn't need to rip it apart to add a lining - just use the existing bag to make your pattern, then add 1/2 inch or so to each side for the seam allowance and sew the lining together, then turn the existing bag inside out and stitch it to the lining at the top.
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
KMOM14 over 4 years ago
