What are your favorite crafts?

Sewing, making party decor and invitations, crafting with my kids

What do you craft along to?

Sadly I usually work in silence. My golden time to craft is just after putting the kids to bed and during that early evening time we keep a silent house. I am left to my thoughts. Usually, I am writing the blog post in my head that will go along with the project I am working on. Later in the evening I will have the TV on in the background tuned to HGTV.

What was the first project you ever made?

My first substantial project and the one I am most proud of was making my own wedding dress. My fiancé was deployed at the time and I toiled away in the evenings after work making my own dress. I made a prototype with muslin fabric to get the fit just right and then I made the real deal with satin. I adored my dress and the best compliment was guests were surprised to find out I made it myself. By the way, my mom made all the bridesmaids dresses (the craftiness is genetic).

What are your favorite items to make?

Anything for my home. I make pillows, curtains, art, decor, lighting, and sometimes furniture.
