When did you first start crafting and how did you learn?
When I was in college I asked my grandmother to teach me how to cross stitch because I was making a gift for my sorority Little Sister. It sort of took off from there, but I think I’ve always had an ‘inner Martha’.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
Not really sure, but I do recall another time in college cutting out pictures from a Fredericks of Hollywood Catalog and glued them to poster board. Then I grabbed pictures of my friends and cut off their heads and put them on the bodies. The fun was figuring out which heads matched with each outfit!
Where do you look for inspiration?
Pinterest, of course. I’m mildly (okay insanely) obsessed. Pinterest.com/fancymelissa
What's your craft space like and how do you organize your supplies?
I am such a lucky girl. Because my hobby is also my business I have taken over the living room/dining room in my house. It’s a lovely space and it’s organized with Ikea Shelving and CTMH Organizers. What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to craft along to?
I LOVE Pandora and I like to mix it up a bunch with Phil Phillips, Mumford & Sons, Todays Hits and some Old School Funk. But also really love The Spectrum (channel 28) on Sirius XM.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I’m really a paper crafter and just love it. But I have really been enjoying Digital Scrapbooking using CTMH’s online Studio J program. It still really allows me a creative outlet without all the mess.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I just love making fancy things with my friends. I am happiest when I am helping others.
