When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I remember being quite obsessed with our bread maker as a child. Cookies were also something I loved to make. I still do!
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is a good size with an island in the middle. The best part is the double oven gas stove. The kitchen has lots of counter space which is great for leaving my stand mixers out so I can whip something up in no time. I like to keep it organized by going through the cupboards and pantry regularly to take stock.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Grab a cook book, some ingredients and just get in there and practice. It helps to have all the ingredients, measuring cups and spoons out ahead of time. Reading through the recipe will make it feel more familiar.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
I actually get nervous when I have company. I prefer to have my family over so we can just order pizza if it doesn't turn out. That being said, I would love to have Ree Drummond over for some pasta and wine. She seems so easy going!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love scrapbooking! I have several books on the go for my kids.
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
My favorite cooking blogs are thepioneerwoman.com and pinchofyum.com. It's nice to read what other people are doing in their kitchen. I like discovering new blogs from referrals such as Foodgawker and Tastespotting.
