Have you always been creative and what’s the earliest work you can remember creating?

Oh my goodness, YES! In grade school, I used to wait for any holiday just to have an excuse to give my classmates handmade gifts. Mind you, this was way before the Internet, so I was going off pure imagination. My mom definitely influenced and encouraged this in me. I have always loved drawing, especially with colored pencils. The first thing I can recall making was Christmas gifts for my classmates in third grade, but I'm sure I did something earlier than that (my memory is terrible).

What's your studio like and how do you keep organised?

I have a small studio for my photo shoots and product orders, though it's still a bit of a happy mess. I keep organized in the fact that I know where everything is but I am definitely in the market for more drawer and cabinet space. Once I have those, let the labeling begin! I love labels. It's a bit of an obsession.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Instagram, Instagram, and oh, did I mention Instagram? I also look to characters for inspiration. Television, film, wherever there is a person than has a colorful personality, I am immediately drawn to them.

Whats in your pencil case / camera bag?

My iPad, stylus, and notebook. I write all my ideas in my notebook, so I can refer to them later. They come unexpectedly so writing them down is key. Most of my work is digital so I could not live without my iPad or stylus.

Any tips for someone suffering from creative block?

Take this as a sign for a break! Go get a cup of coffee with a friend, go to the movies, RELAX. This is your brain telling you than you need to rest. Sometimes this can last a few days, a week, maybe even a month, but it doesn't last forever. Let yourself chill out. That's when the best ideas sneak up on you.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I love DIY blogs and trying out their ideas. This inspired the DIY posts on my blog! I also enjoy the occasional Lego building session with my eldest son or running around after my 10 month old.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Thank you so much for thinking of me as an Art Superstar! I truly appreciate the honor!
