Zebra Cat Bed

  • Completed Project: Zebra Cat Bed Picture #1

Purrrrr
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

I made my cats a stripy cat bed.

It's made from a cardboard box, stuffing and zebra fabric.

The cover is removable, so I can wash it now and then.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Cut an oval shape from the bottom or side of a cardboard box.
This is the bottom of the bed.

Fold the side of the bed along the oval shape and attach with lots of duct tape.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Cover the bottom and side of the bed with soft material.

(I bought a secondhand pillow and used the stuffing)

Tape it to the cardboard to stay in place.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Difficult to explain how i made the cover... Oval piece for the bottom, long rectangular piece for the side of the bed, sewn together, pinched here and there... guess you're all creative enough to figure out yourselves.

And maybe your cat can help, just as mine did.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Let the bed be tested after each step, it has to be purrfect, of course...

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

The bottom is uncoverd, so upside down you see cardboard. But this way it's easy to remove the fabric for washing, and no-one sees the under side...

    Happy purrrrring!

Cool and cute cat :D
I forgot to leave my cats litter box in with her at night once and she peed all over her bed, so I had to throw it out :( This is a great idea to make one I wouldn't mind throwing away :)

I have photo's of the process, but the zebra-cover was a bit improvisational... so not sure how to explain that part. After my vacation (to Egypt, yay!) i'll post the pics with some explanation :-)
