I saw this in a magazine, don't remember which one, but thought I would try it

Step 1
first you can do either of these
use a styoform ball to wrap the yarn around it
or make a ball of yarn
by wraping the yarn around your finger and then wraping the yarn untill it makes a ball -
Step 2
then I used thread to tie down any loose ends

Step 3
then using two peices of wire, I threaded the wire through the yarn balls and knotted the wire ends to make a circle
