Woven Pillow

  • Completed Project:Woven Pillow Picture #1

Woven ribbon pillow.

Very tedious work, but worth the effort! Made of ribbons, fusible lightweight interfacing, turquoise cotton fabric, thread and love. :)

  1. Step 1

I cut the interfacing to the size of the pillow.

  2. Step 2

I laid out the strips longways, and then wove a couple going the other way.

  3. Step 3

Then I would take a wet washcloth and press the few strips to make them stick.

  4. Step 4

    Weave a few, press.

  5. Step 5

When you use interfacing you have to iron it with something wet to make it stick. Anyway, When I got to the end I just sewed it to another piece of fabric to make a pillow case.

  6. Step 6

I left an opening in the other piece of fabric to stuff it--which I wouldn't recommend, I would just buy a pillow and cover it--and stuffed it!

BEAUTIFUL. Any chance of a very brief explanation? After you wove the ribbons, how did you hold them together as you sewed, and where did you sew? Sooooo pretty. I LOVE lime green.

This is really pretty, thanks for sharing and thanks for the explanation. Would it be okay if I added your explanation to the main body of the project and turned it in to a how-to?
