i got the idea from a hood i saw in a store window downtown. instead of paying $200 for it i bought some cheap fun fur and made it myself...i think it ended up costing me about 4 bux!!! enjoy!!
i apolagise i suck at explaining things hopefully the pictures are thorough
post your versions!!!
please
1
first step is to cut out your pattern. all i did was figure out how big i wanted my hood chalked it out on the wrong side of the fabric (don't forget to include the scarf part) then cut it out
cut 4 if you want a lining and 2 if you don't
2
pin the back and top of both hoods together and sew
3
cut out 2 rectangles big enough for your hands
4
fold over the top of the rectangles and sew
5
now sew them onto the bottom outside of the scarf part of your hood
6
here's the tricky part
with right sides together put the lining hood inside the other hood and sew all around leaving a small opening at the back where it would sit on your neck
pin and sew
7
now pull right side out through the opening and stitch the opening up
try to hide the seam
almost done!
cut out 4 triangles slightly larger than you want the ears to be
right sides together sew the top sides of the triangles then pull the right sides out and hand stitch onto your hood where you want them to be
9
now you have a fun warm hood just in time for the snow!!
