I once found this tutorial linked down below.
I started wrapping a 3cm big stone using copper wire und practicing more and more, I used smaller stones.
The faceted amethyst I used here is only 10 x 8 mm.
I had run out of practice wire so I had to use my 26 gauge round sterling silver wire. For this size it was probably not a bad choice...
