This bear was made for my gran. She likes to display stuffed animals on shelves. She also is a candle addict so this was the perfect blend for her.
First you mix and melt the wax to the right scent you want. We didnt add color to the wax but you can do so if you want a contrast to the fur. Then you dip the bear into the wax until covered. We used a deep fryer pan so that we could hang the bear above the pot while the excess dripped off. Make sure the bear is in a sitting position while drying. Once it is dried the wax makes the fur stick in all different directions like an over loved stuffed animal. Plus from sitting flat while drying, it has a flat bottom so you don't have to worry about it falling over.
The plus side is definitely that you can put this bear anywhere. It smells great. Every couple of months just spray on some more candle scent or essential oils and gently blow dry on a low setting for a few seconds and voila! instant potpurri bear again :-)

How cute! And what a strange idea, I might have to try this!

lol yeah. My fiance has made these for awhile. This one was a lesson for me so he can teach me. I'm going to see if he can teach me more about candle making so I can share some tutorials on the topics.

It's cute, I've never heard of wax dipping bears before - is the main purpose just to scent it?

In all honesty this freaks me out.
I just wouldn't be able to dip a bear into wax, real or not.
I'd probably just spray it with perfume or stuff it with potpourri instead.

Yeah its mainly used to scent room incognito. :-) If you use minimum amount of wax it just looks like an overloved bear. The more wax you use the heavier it will become and more statue like.

Honestly I couldnt stuff the bear with potpurri lol that would be too much like a taxidermist or something. :-)
