Delicious, quick and easy
My sister is obsessed with watermelons.
For Christmas, her favourite present was an actual watermelon :P
So for her birthday I decided to make her a blanket that looked like a slice of watermelon.
All you need to know to make this is how to double crochet and do a colour change. (I taught myself both through youtube videos)

    HOW TO MAKE THE BLANKET:
(You can do as many chains to start as you need for the width you require)
1.Do 5 rows in the dark green
2.Do 7 rows in the light green
    3.Do 2 rows in white
3.Do as many rows in the red as you need to get your blanket to the length you require
4.I colour changed every 15 stitches on every 4th row to add in a black "seeds". You could embroider these in later if you don't feel like colour changing for just one stitch

Hi Happy This was done in double crochet (yarn over, pull through 2; yarn over pull through 2).
Since I made this blanket 5 years ago, I can't remember exactly how many stitches I used. I just made as many chains until the length looked right to me.(this would be different for each person since some people might want a bigger or smaller blanket. Different types of wool, hook sizes and tension would also alter the size from person to person).
I think I would have used between 100 & 150 stitches.
I hope that's at least somewhat helpful Tongue
Goodluck
