  1. Step 1

    Step 1

I took this picture in a botanical garden. This is a beautiful water-lily. I love flowers and I wanted to see this one on my window.

I use peel-off water paints, it's easy to work with and they are water-based (so safe for children too).

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

I opened the digital image (maybe you took yours with a digital camera just like me, or you scanned the image, it doesn't matter) in an image manipulating program such as Photoshop or something. I used the GIMP for this work. GIMP is a free program, so you can download it from the site: gimp.org.
First turn the image mode to black and white. It is important because on bw images is easier to find the contours.
Now use the effect "find edges" or manipulate with the treshold in the color menu. The point is to find the edges. I can not give you exact values, because every pictures are different.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

If you feel it's quite okay, just print the image in the size wich you need. Grab a marker or a thick black pencil and draw the outlines. You need clearly visible lines.
If you done this job, get out your window painting kit and do the rest.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Paint the pattern (as your window paint instructions say) and wait when it's completly dry.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Now you can put it on the window and it wont droop :)

(I ran out of purple paint while I was painting so I had to use blue paint for one of the purple petals. But it's still nice.) :)

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

I made these lilies in the same way. I have a photo of only one but the pattern could be used more than once.
