A quirky take on the vintage teacup candle
A soy vanilla candle with eco-friendly wick, poured into a vintage ice cream glass and finished with a funky umbrella straw.

  • Step 1

    Wash and thoroughly dry a glass jar in preparation.

  • Step 2

    Place a pre-waxed wick into the jar and balance a wooden skewers or chopstick on either side of the wick, taping them together at both ends to keep the wick secure.

  • Step 3

    Gently melt soy wax flakes in a saucepan, stirring until fully liquid. Using a food thermometer heat the wax to approximately 65 degrees (check your particular brand for the exact temperature).

  • Step 4

    Carefully pour the wax into the jar, avoiding the wooden sticks. Be very careful as the wax is hot.
    Leave it to set - overnight is best.

  • Step 5

    Once set, remove the wooden sticks and pop a drinking straw with an umbrella in it onto the wick for decoration.
