Homemade fondue, this doesn't have to just be for Valentine's Day :)
I made a fondue dinner for my boyfriend last Valentine's Day.

  • How to cook a chocolate fondue. Valentine's Day Fondue - Step 1
    Step 1

    Gather your supplies:

Make sure you have a fondue set or something you can put the melted chocolate in. You can find some pretty nice and fairly cheap ones on Amazon. If that's not an option for you you can always use a mug or bowl and skewers (forks will work too) that you have at home you'll just have to melt the chocolate on the stove and then transfer it to the container you've chosen.

    Make cakes:

    This step is optional.

I had a heart shaped mold that I used to make little red velvet cakes and angel food cakes. The red velvet cakes were already red so I dyed some of the angel food cakes pink and left the rest white.

    Make chocolate bowls:

    This step is optional.

Melt chocolate on the stove and then after it's cooled paint a very thick layer on a blown up balloon. Make sure you don't blow up the balloon too much, it should be roughly the size of a tennis ball.

I filled the chocolate bowls with whipped cream when we were eating the fondue.

Be careful! I had a few balloons pop on me :P

Sorry the picture is so bad, it was really dark.

    Cut up fruit:

I used bananas, apples, pineapple, clementines, strawberries, and raspberries. But of course you can use whatever you want, even things that aren't fruit! Get creative and have fun :)

    Melt the chocolate:

Melt your chocolate on the stove then add it to your fondue pot (unless of course you have a fondue pot that will melt the chocolate for you). Dip your fruit and cakes and whatever ever else you have and enjoy!
