I was actually packing up my room after I was finished with my Bar course in the UK (I am a law student) when I saw this old pair of jeans which was now 2 sizes too big. I didn't want to throw them away, so I decided to cut them into shorts and added my own twist to it with different types of studs and lots of fraying! Have fun!

Have fun!

Instructions

  1. Small diy jean shorts

Find an old/unwanted pair of jeans! Do not use skinny jeans as it doesn't look good when you cut them for this project.

  2. Small diy jean shorts 2

Put your favourite shorts over the jeans. Make sure you match the crotch area!

  3. Small diy jean shorts 3

To make things simple, use everyday tools such as pencils and rulers! Use a pencil to line where you'd like the length of the shorts to be.

  4. Small diy jean shorts 4

    Mark it!

  5. Small diy jean shorts 5

Now cut slightly below the line you have just drawn because this extra space will be used to fray the shorts later on!

  6. Small diy jean shorts 7

Use a pair of scissors, and fray the cut hem like so! Do not be afraid to drag the scissors hard.

  7. Small diy jean shorts 8

With a hole puncher, make some holes at the side of your jeans to add spiked studs.

  8. Small diy jean shorts 10

    Screw the studs in!

    Next, get some rivet/pyramid studs.

Place the rivet studs along where you'd like to have them. Poke them in, and use a flat-nose plier to push the little nibs in to secure the rivet stud.

Now you have an updated piece in your wardrobe! I have been wearing this out so often and the studs are well secure!
