I haven't worn my bangles in a long time cuz I stopped liking the jingly sound, so it's great you can still use them! Mine turned out wayy messier than the person who did the instructions, I think her hemp is thinner, but I thought of it like they're different looks (hers is more appealing though, it looks really great). I had to wrap doubling back because if it wasn't tight they would slide and spaces would happen, so my hemp must not knot as well as thin hemp. It's very easy and a thin bangle gives this good bracelet-balanced-feeling, which no other bracelets can do cuz they all hang or they're heavier.
