Transform Twinkie Snack Cakes into adorable puppies using Tootsie Roll Midgees.
Unwrap Twinkies and Tootsie Rolls. Soften candies in the microwave or in your hands and flatten to about 1/16th inch thickness. Use kitchen shears, knife, or metal cutters to cut the following pieces for each Twinkie dog: 2 white (vanilla) eyes (I used a large round plunger cutter) 2 brown (chocolate) pupils (small round plunger cutter) 1 pink (strawberry) tongue (tear drop cutter) 1 brown nose and mouth (kitchen shears) 2 brown ears (cut with kitchen shears then shape into a curved ear) 2-6 brown spots (kitchen shears) Draw a line down the center of the pink tongue. Poke a hole on either side of the Twinkie, about 1/2 inch from the top. Fill the hole with chocolate frosting. Stick the pointed end of an ear in each hole.
Use small dabs of chocolate frosting to attach all the facial features to your Twinkies putting the spots in a variety of places to give each puppy character.
